What with Paul playing Uke on "Something" at the recent Liverpool concert , I got to wondering, is he any good on this instrument? Any Uke players here that can shed light on this?

In my opinion: he can play some chords on it, but his not really a master.

I share that opinion, but to be honest I'm not sure I'd recognize talent on the uke if I saw/heard it!

he plays a wide range of instruments, to be able to play the Uke to any level is great, I doubt he plays it for more then 'Something' and I didn't hear any problems with it live

Yes, you would.

Jake Shimabukuro plays "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"

I know this has been posted before, but it's such an awesome performance I had to do it again. 2.5 million views on YouTube; wow.

OMG, HH, that is just so unbelievably awesome. I'm so grateful you posted that, it really made my day, week, etc. It's so clear he loves his music, and George. It was almost a religious experience for him, it seemed. I really thought it was so nice when, during a quiet part, you could hear the birds singing along.

Thanks again

I thought it sounded great...it is the Ukelele isn't going to sound exactly the same!

But I laughed because it's While My GUITAR Gently Weeps...it should be While My Ukelele Gently Weeps!

So true! I never thought of that. It should be called, "While My Ukelele Unbelievably Wildly and Astoundingly Weeps. In Central Park."

Yes, awesome setting and lovely birds.

I would love to have Macca's talent. I tend to forget that he is playing every instrument on some of his albums when listening to them.

You know, he apparently mastered the mandolin purely for 'Dance Tonight'? I know it's only a couple of chords but I think it's admirable to pick up a new instrument and  still be interested in new things, musically, after all he's done. I think he did the same thing with the ukulele for 'Something' and it was a lovely tribute.

Anybody who plays the guitar or any stringed instrument can play as well as Paul does. Paul dabbles with it. (This according to my guitar playing friends)
