Viva la Vida is such a fantastic album. Every song is a gem. It's a relatively short album, 47 minutes - 13 songs, but is a cohesive and well-produced project. I love it. Before this I've known only 3 or 4 songs from them - Speed of Sound, Clocks, In My Place, and of course, my favourite, Trouble. But Viva la Vida contains really great stuff. The title track is fantastic, is an anthem. Violet Hill is also very catchy. My favourite track from it is Lost! I hope they release it as the next single.
And well, we better not talk about the sales... LOL

Glad you like it wingsman , i think it's a great album . And it's pushing 3 million worldwide in just 5 weeks LOL
I hope they re-release the album in November with extra tracks and DVD... to push the sales even MOORE! LOL
I've read reports wingsman their will be a new album in early 2009 , apparently they recorded enough songs in the "Viva La Vida " sessions for a quick follow up release .
"Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup, They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe. Pools of sorrow waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind, Possessing and caressing me." "About a lucky man who made the grade" "I'm coming down fast but I'm miles above you."

Yes I've read that too. I don't think they'll do that. Early 2009 sounds too soon.

Is Cold Play's work anywhere near comparable to the Beatles in terms of "greatness"? I know it's like comparing apple and oranges but to me they don't deliver that punch the Beatles were able to do in 2:30 versus what Cold Play does in 5. What's your take?
Oh I wouldn't compare them to The Beatles. No one really can be compared to the greatness of The Beatles, but they are one of George Martin's current favorites.

Coldplay is good, but I can`t think of any band that could be compared to The Beatles, that is creative and doesn`t stick to one line in music but is capable of diversity and new ideas. Coldplay is very predictable and monotonous.

Viva la Vida's really grown on me, rather to my surprise: I was playing it at the beach today, and I think it's the album I'm going to associate with this year's summer. Make of that what you will.
