I have seen a number of Beatle tattoos. The most common one I have seen is the outline of the boys from the cover of Help!. Also, I saw Ringo's drumset with The Beatles logo on the front. I have also seen lines from songs like "With a little help from my friends" and "all you need is love". I even saw someone with the whole song lyrics of In My Life on their entire back. And then of course I have seen the actually faces, which if your going to do that make sure you have someone who really knows what they are doing because the last thing you want is a tattoo that only kind of looks like John! (BTW I have only seen these online, never on someone in person). Oh yes, and I also saw someone with a whole sleeve dedicated to Yellow Submarine (this was pretty darn cool!).
I was thinking of getting one myself but I am not sure. If I do end up getting one, I would like it to be original.
If I were to get a tatoo of the Beatles, it would probably be the "classic" logo. I think that's the best. Or the green "apple" with the Beatles logo on it. That would be pretty cool.

A few that I thought of, but probably won't get is like Imagine or some other Beatle related word on your lip. And a heart where John got shot, that is a little graphic though and I'd probably cry everytime I saw it, but I had a dream about getting one like that.

I thought about getting a Beatles tattoo for a while... But I decided that anything with words (including the Beatles name) or portraits of band members would not be an option... Because I wanted something that was in a way Beatles related, but that would also be a cool design on its own even if it wouldn't have had anything to do with the Beatles... I couldn't find any good image that fitted my demands, so I haven't gotten one yet... I do have two Beach Boys tattoos (the bee from the "Wild Honey" album cover, and the sun from Brian Wilson's "Smile" album cover with the first notes of "God Only Knows"), one Red Hot Chili Peppers tattoo (the elf from the "One Hot Minute" album cover), one from one of my own bands (two stars and a horseshoe with the band's name, Striving Higher) and two that aren't music related (my family crest, and a praying angel).
Really? I never knew that. That's weird. Atleast if you sneak behind your parents back and get it they can't pull the excuse that you'll have it forever

Music staffs are a cool idea, if you can read music. I would probably get a select lyric in a cool script, but if you wanted a graphic, you could use something from The Beatles Illustrated Lyrics book. They're all very cool and sixties-ish, without being something we've seen a million times like the Yellow Sub art or the cartoon show characters.

For now I'm in the "classic Beatles logo" camp...although I could change my mind. I've been thinking about getting a Beatles/Beatles-related tattoo for more than a year now, but I'm never fully certain of what it should be or where it should go. Ideally, I'd like to choose my arm or wrist, but in reality I can't put tattoos in any "openly visible" areas because of job issues. Plus, I'm terrified of needles, LOL. It'll be a while before I see which wins out...my Beatle love or my needle-phobia.
For those who don't want super-obvious Beatles tattoos, you could always get inked with an item or animal from their songs. (Blue jay, walrus, octopus, blackbird, etc.)
If you ever get a tattoo of a person, make sure you do pay alot because you get what you pay for. Actually, with any tattoo, as it is pretty much for life. I guess what I am trying to say, is make sure whoever is scarring you for life knows what the heck they are doing!

that reminds me. I have a firend and he got the NZ map tatooed on his arm. He says it was bloody painful to get and that Auckland is very itchy!

I like drawing tatoos on my when I get bored in class. They usually consist of stars, like the shape, hearts, peace signs, heart peace signs, and lyrics to a Beatles song in cursive. You could do that...
And, the whole Sgt. Pepper's album? I'd be too much of a wimp to do that, but that would be so cool!
