I just spent almost $200 bucks on fireworks... I get to watch my money burn..WhOoOoO hOoOo! The governator asked the people of California not to buy them this year, but I say screw you Arnold. I will be safe and sane! (and drunk as a skunk!)

We had a small war in our back yard last night with all the fireworks. At midnight, I ran everyone off because I wanted to go to sleep............we'd been going to parties all day and then ended it at out house with fireworks. And my yard looked like a major party went on.............firework trash and beer cans everywhere. Big job this morning in cleaning up.
Yes we had fireworks and gunshots well into 3am. I think because the holiday fell on a Friday this year. No work or school the next day...longer time to stay out and play.
The gunshot thing is always so ridiculous. I wonder how many reports we'll hear on the news today about some innocent person being hit by a stray bullet. Do these people not know the laws of gravity?

I'd like to know what the rationale is for people shooting guns into the air. I mean, this isn't the wild west anymore. I thought shouting YEE HAW and shooting your sixgun went out with the stage coach. What's the mentality at work here?
I have no idea. I guess people just want an excuse to shoot their guns. And I guess they think New Years and 4th of July is the time to do it. Of course, I disagree with this 100%. But I think that is how they rationalize it. Both holidays are loud with fireworks or banging pots and pans and horns. I don't know...
