Hi, I'm new here. My mom is a Beatles and Paul freak, she was even just put in Newsday about it. Anyways, all my life she's been telling me this story about how she gave Paul McCartney a 75 foot long gum wrapper love chain (well gave it to a security guard who gave it to him) and right before 'Long Tall Sally' at the 1966 Shea Stadium concert, he came to the microphone, outstretched his arms and said "I'd like to thank the girl for the long chain."

I am DESPERATELY searching for videos or pictures of this, and anyone else who was at the 1966 show that possibly remembers him doing this. It would be greatly appreciated and would make her so so so so so happy.

She was at the Billy Joel concert on Friday (Paul showed up) and she's been floating since.

I guess post on here, PM me, or email me. You have no idea how much it would mean if you actually have video or a picture of this! (tho honestly, would she even know if it was a different picture of him outstretching his arms haha)

I may be wrong but I don't think this was filmed. In fact only snipets of audio from about half the show exist, and LTS isn't one of the songs that made it.

I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they didn't play Long Tall Sally during that tour, except at Candlestick Park.

Did they play it in '65?

"Wings IV introduced Jimmy McCulloch, a spunky lead guitarist with grit, able to spur Paul on unlike any previous soloist. His debut track, the magnificent single `Junior's Farm', stands as one of Wings' finest emotional and technical releases."

"Few people on this planet know as much about Jimmy's musical history than you."

"I'm Joe English and I'm from Glasgow, Scotland." xD

He went out tiger hunting with his elephant and gun, in case of accidents he always took his mom.

There is a dvd of Shea, but most probably it's the 1965 concert.

Apparently they did play Long Tall Sally at their show in 66. There's some nice pictures from that year on this site as well: http://www.pbase.com/tg6string/beatles
