"dummies" would be me.
seriously.
i've been listening to them for a while but i still don't understand some parts of their songs.
no i'm not stupid. it's just not my mother tongue and i still can speak english better than most people i know.
anyway.

i have a lot of questions, i hope someone answers. please?
first question.
in love me do, when he says i'll always be true.
does it mean that he'll always be honest or that he'll always be there for her? [or something else, maybe?]
OK, you can laugh if you find this funny but i seriously want to know.
i'd appreciate any help.

This is a good question blackmath .
English is a funny old language , with one word often having several meanings .
I'm an English speaker and i sometimes find it difficulte , i think the use of true in this case is like true love , and not true in the sense of honest .

[i'll be asking more questions in the future, i have a lot of them.]

I think as English speaker's we take for granted that these songs will be understood by everyone .
I've never even thought that people would have to use an English dictionary to understand the lyrics , that sounds like home work .
But now we have this thread you can ask and one of us should be able to help you blackmath.
Were are you from ? i'm from England

home work? believe me, i use dictionary everyday to understand things all over the net. well not everyday now, but i used to do it two years ago. i'm really much better now. and i know almost all of the words they use in their songs [especially their early songs, haha] but sometimes they use phrases i've never heard before, what am i supposed to do then?
another example.i have no idea what roll over beethoven means. i just imagine poor beethoven rolling on the floor. but it probably means something else.
i'm half turkish and half persian.

I've always interpreted as meaning he'll always be faithful to her. He's reassuring her that she's the one. He found "someone to love." Cuz really, he's begging her to give him a chance. Just my take on it.

Love, love me do.
You know I love you,
I'll always be true,
So please, love me do.
Whoa, love me do.

I think Roll Over Beethoven means "He will be rolling in his grave " , Rock 'n' Roll would be a shock too Beethoven so he would be rolling in his grave with the wild sound
It's quite a funny image , mind you so is Beethoven rolling around on the floor

This is actually a good thread for even for only english speaking people.  Sometimes lyrics have hidden meanings!

This is a really cool question
It just mainly depends on how you interpret it, how you want to hear it.
To me, that line meant he'll be there for her.

I thought Chuck meant for Beethoven's record to "roll over" off the needle so that the Rock and Roll Record could be on the table.

thank you everyone. it's interesting to see that all of you people have a different opinion.
[now i'm confused even more.]
hey here's a new one.

"come on and work it on out" in twist and shout.

EDIT: twist and shout is a very weird song and probably has no meaning.
but i'm still curious.

"You know you got me goin' now" ?

I`ll always be true means i won`t look at any other girl and will stay faithful to you, love only you.
Roll over B. means turning in his grave, being disturbed from the eternal sleep. You are right!
I ve got a question: What is funny papers? And why funny papers?

As the song is about Apple's lack of cash at the time, I assume it's legal documents.
