The Fireman "Electric Arguments" release date 18/11/2008 . This is up on Paul's site , i can't wait , interesting it's credited to Paul & Youth on the album cover
Must admit I'm not thrilled about this, I don't like this direction from McCartney, it's not his strength, it just sounds weird to me. That first song Lifelong Passion, sounds like music for Belly dancers?
lol i like the idea of music for belly dancers maccafan . I think as these Fireman projects are side projects for Paul, it's ok with me for him to get a bit experimental now and then . We might get a weird rocker on this album , i remember it been reported that one track at least deals with Paul and Heather's divorce . This album unlike the other two he's released as The Fireman as Vocals and the album title sounds angary ? Also the fact he's put is name on on this one may indicate he's pretty proud of this one .
I just don't like this direction from McCartney, to me it's not where his musical strengths are. McCartney's strengths are in his roots, and his roots are r&b, country, folk, skiffle, jazz, and rock.
This weird electronic stuff just doesn't do it for me, I like the poppin and rocking McCartney!

I also prefer Macca doing that kind of music but he just doesnt do it like he used too, at least this stuff sounds fresh.
In recent years McCartney has produced some of the best albums and music of his entire life!
Flaming Pie - #2 and nominated for a Grammy Chaos - Grammy nominated Memory Almost Full - #3 and went platinum
Fresh or not, The Fireman won't do any of that!
im not talking about Flaming pie or Chaos and Creation though, im talking about right now, Just because it wont win any grammys or go platinum doesnt make it a bad album, Flaming pie, Chaos and Memory are all commercial albums and are always more likely to win these awards.
Besides it's not about what he wins it's about what you like, so if it is fresh and fails to win anything i'd much happier than listening to somethign stale thats won loads of awards.
Paul's output over the past decade i would agree maccafan as been very good .The albums you mention are brilliant. But i think his hard rocking days are now behind him , is voice over the past twelve month as become much weaker . It would'nt surprise me if we only get one more proper album from him . Any new music at this stage of his life is very welcome .

thats is exactly what i was getting at dave, his voice cant stand up to the old rockers anymore and these new songs eem to fit it him better now.

I've just been on Paul McCartney .com , quite a bit of stuff up on the site about The Fireman Album . The lead off track from the album " Nothing To Much, Just Out Of Sight " was played on BBC radio 1 tonight on the " Zane Lowe " Show , it's been compared to Paul doing Led Zeppelin stonking guitar , drums and vocal . Not heard it yet but it sounds ROCKING . This Zane show should be up on the BBC player later on can't wait to hear this track .
Well, the video that was posted says it all. His voice really does sound quite strained to my ears, which is to be expected for a man of his age. There's no point in saying his voice is great when it clearly isn't anymore.
I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.
Fucking Hell i can't believe what i've just heard "Nothing Too Much Just Out Of Sight " as to be Paul's most Rocking vocal since Helter Skelter , it's unbelievable he just sounds so angry , nothing weak about this vocal . Hope this works , go 30 mins into the broadcast and pin back your ears .
I 've listend to this song ten times now and i'm blown away by it . Think this most be the divorce song , think he's getting that witch Heather Mills out of his system on this track ?

Sounds like a good, noisy show: I may have to start listening to this. Thanks.
If you go 30 mins into the broadcast Geoff just move the arrow you come to the track , it's an awesome song from Paul could well be the best rocker he's ever done .

Yeah, it's very "Helter Skelter." Maybe needs a "middle eight," though. On the other hand, what the hell: it makes a good, loud, crunching noise, and I'll take that.
As for the song, he should of just made it a straight forward rock song, it sounds all jumbled up to me, a lot of loud noise going on and it does need a middle eight and maybe some more melody.
Apparentley he wrote each of the 13 songs in a day and then went into the studio and recorded each track in just one day. Can't hear all the lyrics on " Nothing Too Much Just Out Of Sight , but it sounds to be the song about Heather , he sings "Women Betrayed Me " . I love the raw anger of it , it's pure emotion almost hysterical , it's not pretty but boy is it honest . Not many 65 year olds would rip their lyranx out like that , i can see why is voice sounds weaker of late think he did some damage to himself after this ?

Thank you Bobber for posting the track like this for us to hear I think your right about the manipulation and distortion , it sounds a bit like John's "Well Well Well" as well as "Helter Skelter" . I'm loving it ,and although it's very Raw i think it's one of his greatest personal songs ever , the guys really feeling it ? Not sure it's one he could do live , think you would need a lie down for a week after it . He really is in a very creative phase these past few years , he's certainly full of surprises . Reading the blurb on the album he's saying that he just went ahead and recorded what he wanted this time , which means it will be a very mixed bag of an album . Can't wait to hear it in full though

Since it's from Paul I give it a B+, but as a song itself a C-. Vocals way in the background, powerful start that just can't keep it going for the duration. I think it has the makings of a fine song, but if truly recorded and produced in one day, it could probably have used a bit more love and attention in the recording and production. Is it all done, or could they still be working on it? Who produced it?
I do like the use of harmonica on the two tracks I've heard from the album
I love John, I love Paul, And George and Ringo, I love them all!
it does! i really really love it, its very exciting to listen to & his vocals are really ripping it just like on Helter Skelter! he's singing like that and at 66!
HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY TO THE WHITE ALBUM! you say its your birthday!
