Another Girl....one of Paul's most underrated Beatles classics for some reason.

Yesterday has received a heap of plaudists (as it should) so I'm going to go for I've Just Seen A Face. They turned what could have been an average song into a take-your-breath-away, fast paced rockabilly number. What other band at the time could acheive that? Brilliant.

Yesterday by a mile!!!! :)

I guess I am just tired of yesterday, it was a great song when I first heard it, just him and the guitar, the confidence and the plain beautiful simplicity of it all, but after the first 5 times, it got repetitive. The lyrics are pretty much the same, and it just seems to go in circles for me. I get dizzy after a while when I go in circles. Dizzy and tired.

I guess I never really got so attached to 'Yesterday' as much as some have. At the time of its release it marked a big step forward for the group, crossing them over into the MOR market big-time (hence covers by every lounge lizard and greasy balladeer in the known universe). For that we were proud of them, but I still wanted more rockers.
It's a fine song, for sure, but I voted 'I've Just Seen A Face' - fun energy and a catchy tune.
:)

Well, Yesterday is obviously a beautiful love song.
My favorite Paul song on that album though is The Night Before. I love to sing along to that one. I really like his voice in this one too.

I would have to say that 'The Night Before' runs a very close second for me. Very sophisticated for its time, I think.

I voted for Yesterday, because it is like the song Paul has become known for. But if that wasn't on the list I would probably pick I've Just Seen a Face or Tell Me What You See.

yesterday is a nice song but it's not as..."jumpy" or "lively" as I've just seen a face.
AND you can't sing mmm.mmm.mmm.mmm.mmm.mmm.

I ALWAYS sing that part, even if I don't sing any other part of I've just seen a face, its my favorite!

It's hard for me to choose between Yesterday and I've Just Seen a Face, but I voted for IJSAF 'cause I never get tired of that song and it's one of my all-time favorites. I think Yesterday might technically be better and I love it to death, but IJSAF really puts me in a good mood.
