Does anyone know anything about these books? Are they any good? Because I'm very interested in buying them, as I do not own any Beatle books right now. ;D

The Beatles Box looks kind of cheesy to me & I wouldn't buy it at all.

I've seen it at Books a Million.  They have it cheaper than Amazon.  If you collect Beatles books, then buy it.  I may buy it the next time I'm in there.  Like ma_tt2 said, the Anthology book is excellent!!  A bit more pricey, but well worth it.

Actually, Alan Clayson is a good writer. I have read his biography of George "The Quiet One", and of Ringo "Straight Man Or Joker?". Fairly accurate, and some worthwhile analysis of their positions in "Fabdom". I presume the George and Ringo biogs in the box set are the same works ...

What I have heard is that his Macca and Lennon biogs are weak. Maybe there are so many books about John and Paul that another one on each suffers unless it's brilliant.

Really? What a stunning revelation. My opinion is just my opinion! I'm rocked back on my heels. I thought my opinion was something more than my opinion. Just goes to show ...

You are a silly person, Constable.

Just a thought, Cop Constable #31 ...

Is your opinion JUST that, also?

Well ... there ya go!  ::)

Actually, that could actually mean that there are other boofheads and plodders, actually just like you, actually! And wow, that's sad ...

I love the logic though: an opinion is better if more people have it. Mob rule!

But seriously - your post backs up what I think is a serious flaw in the culture of these forums. If you don't please the ruling gang, watch out. If you don't go with the prevailing opinion, you'll be hacked. But I do love challenging the culture, because it's a culture of the ignorant bully.

Sometimes disagreeing just to disagree is pointless though, is it not?

Oh, I never disagree just to disagree. There's always a point. As I say, sometimes the point is, to challenge the culture.

No, no ... I'm not a fake. I always give my real point of view. Sometimes giving a point of view challenges the culture of this board. I don't mind that, and anyone with intelligence would welcome it.

Thats cool. All i'm saying is that the majority cant be wrong all the time.

But seriously, your a verbal bully Ydoll. There is no ruling gang. You confuse that with your own feelings of isolation perhaps? You hack all the time. If it's a general consensus it must be a mob or a flock of sheep? What challenge do you actually present and to whom do you refer as the ignorant bully's?

If the flaws are so serious at this forum you could always try another. FREEWILL my friend. Funny, has it occured to you that some people might be able to disagree with you but actually have their own opinion? What if many people disagree with you? Oh yes...They must be a GANG. Don't make me laugh. This is childish. Lets just get on with enjoying The Beatles please.

You don't get it do you? I don't care if people disagree with me. If it leads to SENSIBLE discussion, that's great. It's the snide comments, the nastiness, etc that I respond to. You yourself have even sent some my way! Look at how Wayne, Joe Karlosi, etc have been treated. I respond to abuse directed my way - and I respond well. And it is an obvious part of the culture of these forums, that if certain people deliver a rude or abusive remark, several others follow in like manner.

By the way, I notice that you castigate some people in public - but others you don't. When Indica said that he would "kick my fucking face in", I didn't see any public tut-tutting from you, Appy. That's called playing favorites. That's why you have zero credibility in my eyes.

Possibly, you have a point regards the Indica comment. For that I apologise. it is indeed true I have known him on this forum far longer than I have you. It's just that you are big enough and ugly enough to look after yourelf as you have proved many times on this forum. I didn't really think about my actions. Regards snide comments, well, I have only retorted to your subtle digs. Regards gaining credibility in your eyes?....I could not give a monkeys. I have made efforts to end our petty feuding but you can never let things lie. It's what I have come to expect from you.

Why don't you PM Dmitry and ask if you can become moderator. Would that finally make you happy? Your point proving is becoming tiring Ydoll.
It's you that dosn't get it. Why can't you just let this forum breathe?

I think it might be time to let you babble to yourself. Go for it.

I bought the Beatles box when it was on sale and . . . i was very disapointed  :-/ :-/ if you want ALOT of info then read it but i was getting overwhelmed, for example,  he would be talking about Ringo being a drummer with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes and then he would end up talking about Rory's father's great aunt or somthing!  :o and he had very little information about John and Paul, which was pretty dissapointing
