DM's Beatles forums  /  Films, TV Shows, Interviews  /  Beatles References in modern shows

I'm bored so when i was vacuuming the church today, i thought of a new thread for here b/c i havent done a beatles thread in awhile.

so try to think of as many shows that have made beatles references (either as a band or solo)

Family Guy: one episode peter recalled working as george's security ("quiet down! ...you wacky beatle"). another episode, stewie says that hes going to do something as bad as he did to john ("John, this is Yoko. Yoko, this is John")

Simpsons: an episode where bart breaks into Flander's secret room devoted to the Beatles, including ed sullivan suits and beatles drinks (John Lemon...damn what were the others)

can you guys think of any modern shows making beatles references (stick to 1990 and above)

"Friends" where on a party one of two scientists refers to Pheobe: "Oh, hello Yoko"

I obviously know some more references, but I just can't think of any now.

;D

Not a TV show, but was watching 'Goodfellas' on TV the other night, and 'What Is Life' by George was part of the coke-chopping bit.

Matt Groening and his cronies on The Simpsons team must have a bad case of Beatlemania!! There are hundreds of subtle and not-so-subtle references on the hit show... here are but a few!!

1. All three remaining Beatles have guest-starred on The Simpsons.

2. In the episode where Homer eats hot chilli and starts hallucinating, he comes across this strange creature in a desert which says, "Goo goo g'joob!" which really freaks him out.

3. In the episode where Homer goes hippie, the theme song at the end is very psychedelic.. Homer sings "Uptown Girl" over it.. and at the very end he says, "I buried Flanders!" .The start of the credit sounds extremely similar to the beginning of the song"Love You To". The rhythm track of the song is exactly the same as Tomorrow Never Knows.

4. The 'Be Sharps' episode, about Homer's barbershop quartet, is packed with Beatles references.. these are the ones I can remember!
    a) George Harrison guest-stars.
    b) When the 'Be Sharps' record their first single, 'Baby On Board' their producer walks into the studio and says, "Gentlemen, you have just recorded your first hit record", just like George Martin did when the Beatles recorded "Please Please Me".
    c) When Barney replaces Chief Wiggum in the group, their fans shout "Wiggum forever, Barney never!" just like they did when Ringo replaced Pete Best.
    d) Homer is convinced to hide the fact he's married to Marge like John did to Cynthia.
    e) The Be Sharps first album is called 'Meet the Be Sharps' with black and white photo of them in black skivvies, like the cover of "Meet the Beatles". Homer appears with his back facing the camera on the back cover like Paul on Sgt Pepper.
    f) The Be Sharps are welcomed at JFK Airport with thousands of screaming fans.
    g) Barney goes out with a 'japanese experimental artist', ie a Yoko look-alike.
    h) Bart says, "Did you stuff up like the Beatles and say you were bigger than Jesus?" Homer replies, "Oh all the time. In fact that was the name of our second album." The cover is just like Abbey Road, except they're walking on water.
    i) Barney and the Yoko lookalike record an 'experimental piece'... it goes, "Number Eight... (Barney burps)... Number Eight... .."
    j) When the cracks are starting to show in the Be Sharps, they record a song is called "C. Everett Koop" and they sing "koop koop a doop" (like goo goo g'joob!)
    k) They give a rooftop concert (at Moe's) when they reunite, wearing the exact same things that the Beatles did. The police give them a hard time.
    l) Homer says, "I'd like to thank you on behalf of the group and I hope we passed the audition." just like John did at the end of Get Back.
    m) There's also their press conference at Idlewild Airport, where one of the reporters asks Skinner if he's the "funny one."

5. The family is visiting a teacher 'Edutainment' show. Principal Skinner says, "Don't go too far if you want to see cafeteria workers in Beatle wigs playing tennis-racquet guitar!"

6. In the 'Dental plan.. Lisa needs braces!' episode, Lisa hallucinates when she goes under anaestetic. It's very Yellow Submarine-ish... at the end, the four cartoon Beatles sail past in their sub, and say, "Look.... it's Lisa in the sky! No diamonds though.."

7. In the episode where Bart becomes Mr Burns's heir, Marge and Homer visit 'Conformo', a brainwashing specialist. He lists his clients... "Peter Fonda, well, that was a heartbreaker. But I did get Paul McCartney out of Wings!" Homer: "You idiot! He was the most talented one!!"

8. The Simpson family visit a wax museum on a boiling hot day. The tour guide says, "And here's The Beatles how they appeared on the Ed Sullivan show." and gestures towards guitars lying in a pool of melted wax.

9. Bart has to do community service at the retirement home, because he wrecked Springfield's chances of hosting the Olympics. He releases the old people outside.. Can't Buy Me Love plays and they frolic just like in the field scene in A Hard Day's Night! Even the Beatle jump! (The old guy with the beard does Ringo's little jump then topples over.) While the credits are playing, a record called A Bart Day's Night is shown, with Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa taking the places of the Beatles.

10. When Paul and Linda guest-star...
    a) Lisa tells Apu that she ran away, and Paul says, "What? She's Leaving Home?" Later, Linda says "Whenever we're in Springfield, we like to be in Apu's garden in the shade" Paul says he met Apu during the Maharishi days. Apu: "Back then I was known as the 5th Beatle." Later, he sings "Sgt Pepper" really badly.
    b) Towards the end, a pig accidentally gets shot out of a cannon type thing. Just like in "I Am The Walrus"... "See how they run like pigs from a gun, see how they fly."

11. There's an episode called Monty Can't Buy Me Love.

12. In the episode where Ringo guest-stars... Mr.Burns: "Ringo?" Smithers: "He was the drummer for a combo called The Beatles." Mr.Burns: "Oh yes, I seem to remember them wailing on the old Sullivan show. What was Ed thinking?"

12. One of the graves in The Simpsons Halloween special says 'Paul McCartney' (As part of the "Paul is Dead" rumor!).

13. When a scientist analyzes an eyelash for DNA (in Who Shot Mr.Burns Part II) a bunch of last names go by really quickly... including Starr, Harrison, and McCartney.

14. Homer and Marge have dinner at Apu's house. Apu looks through his records..."Shankar.....Shankar.....Shankar.....ah! Here we go!" and he pulls out a record named the Concert Against Bangladesh.

15. In "Lemon of Troy", some kids from Shelbyville steal a lemon tree from Springfield. At one point, Bart tries to get the tree back but pretending he is from Shelbyville. To disguise himself, he dresses in a Beatle wig. One of the Shelbyvillian kids then says something like "And his hair looks like a Beatle's!".

16. In one of the couch scenes, The Simpsons plus many of the townspeople recreate the Sgt Pepper cover. Homer (wearing blue like Paul!) turns around....

17. Krusty has a picture in his office of him with the Beatles.

18. Bart and Lisa try to get Sideshow Bob to confess to a crime. Bart: "You were just Barlow's lackey." Lisa: "You were Ronnie to Nancy!" "Sonny to Cher!" "Ringo to the rest of the Beatles!"

19. There's a homeless shelter in Springfield called, "Helter Shelter".

20.  In the episode where Homer gets in trouble for sexual harrassment, the TV news show rapidly shows a list of apologies at the end.  If you slow down the tape, it says "The Beatles did not reunite to enter kickboxing competions".

21.  Homer, Moe and Barney are at Moe's drinking and smoking cigars.  Moe: "Here's to Homer!"  Barney: "And to Sgt Pepper who's growing out the middle of his back!"  Moe: "Barney, you gotta take the plastic off those before you smoke them!"

22.  In the episode where a toy company sponsors the school to do market research, Lisa discovers a secret spying room in a broom closet, and she calls the police.  A mop falls on her head when Chief Wiggum enters.  Lisa: "You have to believe me!"  Wiggum:  "Yeah right, moptop, and I'm Ed Sullivan."

23.  The Simpsons go to a 50's diner that has newspapers from the 50's on the walls. One of the larger headlines is "BEATLES FORMED!"

24.  A young woman named Becky temporarily moves in with the family. Marge become paranoid and starts to suspect that Becky is trying to kill her and steal her family away so she attacks her. She goes on trial for this. One of the judges tries to establish whether she is unstable by asking, "Did you ever have an unhealthy fixation on Ringo Starr?"

25.  In one episode Homer becomes a sort of artist and claims he always wanted ot be one. As a 'schoolgirl' he'd paint pictures of Ringo Starr. Marge then complains that that was her childhood and Homer exclaims, "Marge, I think I'd know my own life from yours!"

26.  There is a Simpsons soundtrack called The Yellow Album. The cover looks like Sgt Pepper only with the Springfield residents.

27. Paul McCartney is in the line for the ship headed to "Second Earth" after the earth fails, because Homer screws up Y2K. George and Ringo are on the Suicide rocket. Also, Rev. Lovejoy says, "The earth wouldn't blow up if God liked your miniskirts and Beatle boots!" To which flanders remarks, "Dang-diddly-ang that John Lennon!"

28.  A producer says "We've used pop music to recruit for the navy!" and  shows a picture of the Beatles in their Sgt. Pepper outfits, pointing weapons at people.

29.  Homer says, "...they're just nonsense words, like 'rama lama ding dong', or give peace a chance."

30.  In the Simpsons PC game there is a furniture designer named "Yoko Onasis", and a toy box called the "Magical Mystery Box".

31.  Springfield wins the "world's fattest town record", and Dr. Hibbert says, "Finally, a record we can call our own!" to which Captain McCallistair replies,"Now we can stop all the lies," and points to a billboard that reads 'Springfield: Birthplace of The Beatles!'

32.  On the episode called "Behind the Laughter", a bunch of screaming girls watch a tape of Bart dancing to a badly-sung version of Twist and Shout.

33.  On a Halloween episode, The Devil appears in Flanders-form, and confesses that his deep-down eternally-long secret was to be one of the Beatles.

34.  One episode (not sure which one?) is dedicated to Linda McCartney.

35.  And the "Hunka Hunka Burns In Love" episode is dedicated to George Harrison.

36.  In the beginning of the episode that Lisa is taught by Little Vicky to become a tap dancer, Homer is at the eye doctors. He looks at glasses and the lady says, "This one is very popular with celebrities, such as Jim Morrison and Yoko Ono." Homer says, "Ewww, she totally ruined the Plastic Ono Band!"

37.  Principal Skinner had a group of rappers at the school, rapping about the importance of safety, and when they were done the principal said, "Wow, watch out, Beatles!". It was really funny!

38.  In one of the newer episodes Little Richard is hosting the Teacher of the Year awards. Right when he is about to announce the winner, he says, "I'm a teacher too. I taught Paul McCartney to go OOOOOOOOH!"

i remember a show called All That that was like a kids/teenagers version of SNL (most of those that starred on it later went on to SNL) and i remember that they did a skit with this lunchlady that forced you to eat your peas and at the end, s(he) started singing Give Peas A Chance...i laughed for 10 mins.

In the beginning of the show The Wonder Years (which is a kick-a** show), Joe Cocker's version of A Little Help From My Friends Plays.

Can't think of any more shows but as for movies....

In the beginning of the movie Austin Powers, the opening part is like a Hard Day's Night.
In the Beakfast Club the one kid says he wanted to be John Lennon.
In Dirty Dancing in the beginning Baby mentions the year and says its before The Beatles.
In Ferris Buller's Day Off he is in that parade singing Twist and Shout.
Forrest Gump met John Lennon.
In My Girl, Maukley wants to drive to Liverpool because he is a big Ringo fan.

Those are all that I can think of! I know there must be alot more!!!

There are so many Beatles references thrown about I can't even keep up with them! I can't really go a day without seeing or hearing something related to the Beatles. Unless I go live in a cave or something.

in the begging of the movie "Glory Road", they show the time period by a montage of current events. One is a picture of the beatles. We were forced to watch the movie in school, and as i said to my friend, that was the best part ;)

Not so much a modern show anymore, but still cool: School House Rock. This is from the song A Noun is a Person, Place or thing. Love it.

Oh, I put a dime in the drugstore record machine.
Oldies goldies started playing if you know what I mean.
I heard Chubby Checker, he was doin' the twist
And the Beatles and the Monkees, it goes like this!
I put a dime in the drugstore record machine.

Well every person you can know (The Beatles and the Monkees, Chubby Checker)
And every place that you can go (Like a neighborhood or a store)
And anything that you can show (Like a dime or a record machine)
You know they're nouns.

Well,  all 4 Beatles were in 1 episode of Family Guy it's really funny but really mean at the same time

Brian the dog says:"Well, this is the biggest waste of time since Ringo's sonwriting"
then it flashes to the Beatles in the Studio

Its definetely on Youtube if you wanna see it and have a laugh but feel bad for good ol Ringo at the same time

Also, in one episode of Family Guy when they go to the South Stewie plays a Banjo solo and yells out "Ive got Blisters on my fingers!"

And on Forrest Gump they place John with him and makes Peace remarks to him about the Vietnam
Ill try to think of some more

Here's a few, Sorry if they've been mentioned before.

Goldfinger: James Bond says ' My dear girl, there are some things that just aren't done, such as drinking Dom Perignon '53 above the temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit. That's just as bad as listening to the Beatles without earmuffs!'

The Blues Brothers: 'Who do you think we are the fu**ing Beatles or something?'.

Poltergeist: When the father is trying to make the mother feel better, he sings 'If I fell' to her.

In Apollo 13, when we see the daughter of one of the astronauts she's carrying 'Let It Be'.

Rain man: Raymond  and Charlie sing 'I saw her standing there' while in the bathroom.

'Because' is playing at the end of American Beauty.

And my favourite Beatles quote from 'Sliding Doors:
The character of James says this, 'Everyone is born knowing every single Beatles lyric. It's ingested into the fetus along with all that amniotic stuff.  In fact, they should be called "the Fetals'.

That 'Sliding Doors' quote is too funny!

You reminded me in Apollo 13, just before the family goes to mission control and learns the mission is not being broadcast, the teenage girl is having a fit and doesn't want to go. "I hate Paul!" And her little sister teases, "Is she still going on about the Beatles breaking up?" I loved this quote because for many people, this will remind them clearly of the time period where the Apollo 13 incident took place.

I was reading Pet Sematary (Stephen King) and in the pet cematary was a grave marker that said "RINGO OUR HAMSTER 1964-1965"

King has made several Beatle reference in a few of his books.  One off the top of my head is Needful Things.  I am sure there are others.

Also, I was watching "Everybody Loves Raymond" (don't ask me why I was bored) and his mom and dad were talking about how much they love jazz music and his mom made a comment "Those Beatles were just terrible!"

Does anyone remember the episode of The Simpsons (it's probably over 10 years old) when Homer became part of a 4-piece band that paralleled the Beatles?  I could be wrong but I think the band was Homer, Flanders, Moe the bartender and Barney (the barfly who's always burping).

the other day in an episode of "Life Goes On" (which had Ob-la-di Ob-la-da as the original theme song, but then they changed it  :( ) one of the kids was like, "when you met Mom at the skating rink, and it was Beatles night,"

Yeah, the B-Sharps! I love that episode! Perfect. They even kicked out Chief Wiggum a la Pete Best! So great. Mo wasn't in the band though, it was: Homer, Apu, Chief Wiggum and Principal Skinner. Chief Wiggum was then replaced by Barney. "Wiggum forever, Barney never!"  ;D

There was one in That 70s Show were Jackie and Hyde got together and Eric was talking to Jackie saying that they couldn't stay together and said "because you're breaking up the band, Yoko!" haha!

Also there was something in family guy about ringo's songwriting:

http://www.beatleslane.com/video/beatles-on-family-guy.htm

edit - also I remember one in 30 Rock where Jack d.'s girlfriend is talking to Liz saying "You know how John Lennon was better than the rest of the Beatles but didn't realize it until he met Yoko? Well I'M Jack's Yoko!"
Liz: "You WANT to be Yoko?!?"
haha

Okay, through an amazing spiral through YouTube I ended up watching some Weird Al Yankovic clips. He spoofs the Beatles several times in his music: "Pacman" for "Taxman", "Chicken Pot Pie" for "Live and Let Die", "Hey Jude" set to polka music, etc.

However, I just saw the following shout out in his 2000 "Millennium" VH-1 show (hiding in his underground bunker because the world was ending), and the Beatles are not forgotten when he's packing his Y2K survival kit: http://www.dailymotion.com/related/x2gbrk/video/x2gc5j_vhal-part-3_fun

"What, you sold your thumbs to get me my favorite mustache trimmer"?

OK, Hari, listen closely. Youtube is just the Dark Side, cleverly packaged and marketed. Repeat after me ... I will put down the computer mouse for at least some time every hour. I will put down ...

Look, Alexis, I hear what you're saying. It's kind of you to worry. But I can quit any time I want to. Really. There's just one more series I need to watch. It's a ten-parter. And there's a four-parter after that. Two more series. And that's it! And then I can just walk away... after I play a few of my favorite clips.

Why do I feel like Luke confronting Darth Vader in that cave when he was training with Yoda? "Remember your failure in the cave...."

I've just for the first time seen the original (UK) version of The Office.  And Ricky Gervais's character has eerie similarities to Paul McCartney's characteristics, especially during the filming of Let it Be.

Here in the States, Target has been using their version of "Hello/Goodbye" for a while now...not the Boys, but somewhat cutesy and different.  I kinda like it.

In Ferris Buller's Day Off he is in that parade singing Twist and Shout.

There's not just the Twist and Shout scene in Ferris Buller, there's the scene when he's just got out of the shower he goes on about socialism and other -isms and he quotes the lyrics of "God" by John Lennon.

We were watching the Weakest Link last night and there was a Bealtes question... it went something like "which producer is sometimes considered to be the Fifth Beatle?" And the poor guy must have been so nervous, because he said "Paul McCartney"...   (shakehead1)

I liked her, she was mean  ;D

Why does it seem when they show british people on american television, they always have some kind of attitude.  Simon on American Idol, Chef Ramsey (I think he's Scottish though), that lady on Weakest Link, even the guy on So You Think You can Dance?

Not that I care, I love them all I think their great, especially Chef Ramsey (I have a crush on him  ;D )  And Simon on American Idol is awesome.  He always says exactly what I am thinking and I love that he has the guts to say it.

He also references I Am the Walrus. I love that part: "I quote John Lennon: 'I don't believe in Beatles — I just believe in me'. A good point there. After all, he was the Walrus. I could be the Walrus - I'd still have to bum rides off of people."  ;D

Anyway, I was looking for that quote and I came across references in TV, film, and other media JUST to I Am the Walrus!!! Just to this ONE song! Sorry, I just can't get over the phenomenon they created. This is why it always drives me crazy when people claim to have never heard of them. It's BS. There's just no way.

Television references

    * In the spin-off Sonic the Hedgehog American comic book series published by Archie Comics, the story in Sonic the Hedgehog #75 is titled "I Am the Eggman" in reference to Doctor Eggman (see above). In a strange coincidence, the British Sonic Comic, Sonic the comic, Sonic often compares Robotnik(Eggman) to a walrus.

    * In Stephen King's Dreamcatcher, one of the main characters, Henry, continually quotes the song and calls himself the "eggman" or the "walrus."

    * The Beatles tribute band Yellow Matter Custard was named after a lyric in this song. It was composed of Matt Bissonette (of Joe Satriani), Mike Portnoy (of Dream Theater), Neal Morse (of Spock's Beard), and Paul Gilbert (of Racer X and Mr. Big). The band performed the song on their one and only album, "One Night in New York City".

    * In the Ricky Nelson song "Garden Party", Nelson refers to John Lennon's attendance at a concert at Madison Square Garden with the words, "Yoko brought her walrus".

    * In the Firesign Theater recording "The Further Adventures of Nick Danger" on the album How Can You Be in Two Places at Once When You're Not Anywhere at All, there are references to numerous Beatles songs, most notably "Rocky Raccoon", as well as the use of "Goo Goo Goo Joob". The album cover also features the likeness of John Lennon next to Groucho Marx, a visual pun on Marx/Lenin, the architects of Soviet Communism.

    * In the MMORPG RuneScape, while doing a treasure trail, the player may come across a man named Uri who makes cryptic-like remarks. One of his remarks is: "I am the eggman. Are you one of the eggmen?".

    * In a Ren & Stimpy comic, (in the back there was an ask Stimpy, who goes by Dr. Stupid, page) a child asked Stimpy "Who Am I?", Stimpy replies, "I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together. I am the egg man. They are the egg men. I am the walrus. Koo koo ka-joob!"

    * In the May 2007 issue of the Nintendo Power magazine, The "Mii of the Month" is a walrus saying "Coo coo ca choo" and the article title is "I Am the Walrus."

    * The Christian hip hop group Furthermore created a song entitled "Are You The Walrus." The music video followed a similar pretense to the song "I am the Walrus."

    * In the third episode of the Sam & Max episodic game series, entitled The Mole, the Mob, and the Meatball, there is a scene where the player must use a password to get into a door. The player can choose in a dialogue box to guess a password, which will make Max say something random. One of the possible passwords is "I am the Walrus."

    * The sheet of stickers that shipped with Iomega Zip Drives used to label Zip disks with phrases like "i am Confidential Stuff" or "I am offsite Backup" always included one sticker with the phrase "i am the walrus" (the "i" in all of the phrases was shown as the Iomega logo).

    * The Dead Milkmen song "I am the Walrus" is named after this song.

    * In the play Avenue Q, the character Princeton gives Kate Monster a mix tape with this song on it. It confuses her, because all of the other songs on the tape are about love.

    * In the Zits comic strip for November 13, 2007, Jeremy asks his Dad, "Have you ever heard the Beatles' song "I Am The Walrus"? Jeremy's Dad replies that he has had the song playing continuously in his head since November 27, 1967, the release of "Magical Mystery Tour", and has only been able to get it to stop in the last few years. Jeremy says,"Goo Goo G'Joob" and Jeremy's Dad shouts "NO! NO! NO! NO!"

    * In the British prog band Caravan 1968 song Policeman, the composition has a definite similarity with that of I Am The Walrus. The policeman in the song lyrics is snooping around people smoking "weed the green". One line says "hey man, don't put me in your van".

Oh I just thought of another one from an episode of Dr Who!  Thanks to two posts up ^^.  I'm not sure what the episode was called but the Doctor and the girl were trapped on a spaceship on a crash course to the sun and the girl and some other dude had to unlock doors by answering questions.  The one was "Who had the most pre-download hits, Elvis or The Beatles".  They ask the doctor and he doesn't know so he's trying to make himself think and then looks out a window and shouts "Here comes the sun!".  I thought it was funny (my high school math teacher, man I love that dude, kept that episode on until that part (he wanted to show us the part with the happy prime numbers)).

On the show That 70s Show, Hyde was wearing this shirt with some guy's profile and John Lennon on it.

And in this T-Mobile commercial, Hello Goodbye was playing for about 2 seconds in the background. It was the Beatles version, too.

Not really modern, but there's this Only Fools and Horses epi where Rodney is in a band, being the drummer, and Del Boy calls him Ringo ;D

And in a Midsomer Murders episode called The Axeman Cometh, there was also a drummer who got called Ringo.

And also, there was something in the paper last week... a photo of MPs walking to some meeting with the Prime Minister, and in the photo they were crossing the road Abbey-Road-style. Later there was a little article about the photographer, saying he did it on purpose this way coz he's a Beatlemaniac ;D

I saw a movie preview today for some movie starring Ricky Gervais. It actually looks pretty cute. He dies temporarily and can now see dead people. Not very original, but if anyone can make it funny... ANYWAY, during the preview they used I'm Looking Through You and it was the ACTUAL Beatles version!! How is that possible??!! I thought that was next to impossible?? What's going on!!!

I watched Shrek 3 with my little cousins one day. And at the part where the "magical frog" i guess, dies. All the sudden, so unexpectedly, here comes Paul's beautiful voice singing "Live and Let Die". My mouth literally dropped for a second. hah
I thought that was so cool of them, to put that song on a kid's movie. Well of course, the kids probably don't know who Paul is, much less The Beatles, but the whole idea of it was pretty genius.

Also from Pulp Fiction is the scene at Jackrabbit Slim's where Mia (Uma Thurman) tells Vincent (Travolta) that there are Elvis people and Beatles people, and while you can like both of them, no one can like them equally.  Then I think she tells him that he's an Elvis man.

I remember spongebob episode called "Krabby Road", The episode's title is a play on Abbey Road by The Beatles (the back cover is also parodied in the title card)

also many animation personages were The Beatles parodies, like, Alvin and the Chipmunks sang most famous "beatlesmania (1963-1964)" era songs, in their lp album (released somewhere in the middle of 1960s)

also warner brothers "looney tunes" (does anybody remember Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck?) were also did the same as the Chipmunks, they also sang Beatlemania songs and released lp.

also I remember episode from the movie "the rock" where nicolas cage character "Stanley Goodspeed" waiting something from post, and when he get that post, one asked: "what's that"? Stanley show The Beatles album: meet the beatles.

from the movie called "a bronx tale" there was scene that italian mafioso fighting versus bikers who destroyed their bar, and when they started to fight them, you can clearly hear The Beatles - come together.

movie "I Am Sam" was most based by The Beatles songs, and when sean penn babe was born, he named her, Lucy Diamond Dawson (lucy in the sky with diamonds)

I know this is not reference to the The Beatles, but reference to the John Lennon, in martin scorsese "The Departed":
Jack Nicholson asked: Do you know John Lennon?
DiCaprio: Yeah, sure, he was the president before Lincoln
Nicholson: Lennon said, "I'm an artist. You give me a fucking tuba, I'll get you something out of it."
DiCaprio: Well I tell you Mr. Costello, I'd like to squeeze some fucking money out of it.
Nicholson: Smart mouth. Too bad. If you'll indulge me...
Nicholson: The point I'm making with John Lennon is - a man could look at anything, and make something out of it. For instance, I look at you and I think "what could I use you for?"

Dawson: Grams kept on yelling for us to turn down that
                        hippy music.
Joey: Yeah... and you wanted to be John Lennon. You
wanted to write songs and change the world with your
                  music.
        Dawson: I did?
Joey: You did. You weren't just about Spielberg. You
weren't limited. You... you were about so many things.
I just wanted to remind you of that.(hands the poster
to Dawson) I also wanted to remind you that, even
though sometimes my emotions, particularly jealousy,
uhh, sometimes get the best of me, I still hear you.
No matter how much we yell, or, no matter how quiet
you are. I hear you, Dawson.
Dawson: I hear you too, Joey.
Joey: Listen, I know what's going inside of you is
huge. It's okay if you don't share it with me. Just
promise me you'll keep trying to share it with
               someone?
Dawson: (gesturing the poster) Do you want to give me
                     a hand?
(They both climb on the bed and hang it up.)
Dawson: Hmm. So what do you think? You think John here
will inspire me to walk my own path?
Joey: You've always walked your own path, Dawson. You
just needed to widen it a little. And be on the look
