I stopped buy the chat last night and no PC. I'll try to catch you there this week sometime. Oh Marshall yeah the cell is the same and you have the right number, for some reason the ringer is not working correctly and I get the voice mail when I remember to check it.

I know pretty well ... and I've been there several times ... chatting with some of those who were somehow pushed by me to enter here ... I led them there and I'm still trying to convince them ...
Posted by: pc31, August 27, 2006, 4:25pm; Reply: 10
you don't have to push them in there....i appreciate it but it's a chat for everyone and anyone...it is not just my place...i am trying to get bill harry to start a chat on his site...he is interested but still is not convinced....i told him we could fill a room....his site is down for updates but will be back soon...
Posted by: raxo, August 27, 2006, 4:31pm; Reply: 11
When I said that I was "pushing them to enter here" I was talking about DM's ... but about Moondogs as well (the chat is a good trap for greedy bears  ;D) ... about chatting with Bill: that would be a splendid time garanteed ...
Congrats for the idea of TS forum, by the way!

I agree ... I hate to see people fighting and showing how bad human beings can be ...

... just remembering that one of the first thing I did here at DM's was to try to make a couple to get on well ... do you remember?: http://dmbeatles.com/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?b-conversations/m-1129078636/s-30/ ...

Amen Kate. I asked him to PM me if he's got a problem. He hasn't. There is no reason to go 15 rounds on a public forum. There are a few that feel that this site is proprietary, it's there's, and one is Marshall. Going through a bunch of old posts, I see he bust Raxo's chops, now they are falling in love. And Marshall, I'll be in Florida next month. You want to meet up and hash this bullshit of your's out, I'm happy to do it. Good Lord, its the Beatles and you want to be a tough guy. What the f*** is wrong with you?

JF, you said that you didnt want to come back. you were the one that started saying mess about people and its you that sent Dwarf to wreak havoc in your own twisted way. dont say that there are some people here that want to shape the forum to their own liking, because you're hands are far from clean of that. you said you didnt want to come back but here you are. if you had the balls to just talk to us and say "hey guys, i would like to come back" im sure we would've welcomed you back (we have with wayne and dirk before) but you had to send Dwarf and now the sex change and new identity. grow up, JF or Sally or whoever you want to be next.

I've always tried to get on well with everyone here ... and pc31 had some problems with me in the past: several times and at different times but I stopped posting because I wanted this place to be in peace ... I just tried to avoid answering ... I've began posting again because it all seemed to be in the way it should be ...

You've been here for more than a year acting in a different way ... did I know you? you've always been nice to me tho we've never had any conversation or PM'ed us each other ... I wish that could be the same with the rest of members here ... this has been almost a paradise since September 2005 till this summer ... we've kept Dirk away and now you're been banned!!! :o If you attacked pc31 because of my thing I would thank you but it was not as important as people thought ... The End told all of you that I was just "taking a rest" and some of you knew it pretty well!!!

Both of you still have time to build the building again ... it's up to you, guys ... I would be very sad reading things like those of above of from near past ...

You needn't to show nobody what you can do, if you get to be yourself everybody will thank you. Last weeks have been very unpleasant for everbody. This is your second chance and I want you to be with us ...

No necesitas demostrar a nadie lo que puedes hacer, si consigues ser tu mismo todos te lo agradeceremos. Las ultimas semanas han sido muy desagradables para todos. Esta es tu segunda oportunidad y quiero que estes con nosotros ...

I would pray for you if I knew you needed it  ;) ... but I know you can take care of yourself ... I'll pray for your family instead: Son-ya (they are already) and the kids ... you're around so they've gotta fight against too much these days ... Earn-esto, eh? (Gana this) ... A lot of them, especially the older ones, came in some kind of wrapped paper, like I sent you. Sorry bout that. But I assume you'll go for the music  ;D

The book was meant as a stimulation to go and learn Dutch, as it will soon be the main language on this board. lol. I just needed some things to fill up the box somewhat. The cookies were a good idea, weren't they? I gave them to Al too when I was in London. He ate them all in fifteen minutes. Can you beat that?

If it's anything like crabs you have my condolences.
Posted by: pc31, November 23, 2006, 2:55pm; Reply: 106
it is a microscopic tick...it attaches to the hair climbs down into your pore, bites and deposits a larve which ejects a fluid that melts your skin cells which it sucks up for food....the chigger usually falls off after it bites but it leaves the larve which creates a bump, which itches like poison ivy...they are hell on earth...come visit..we can get you a case first hand...

First thing is, screw these CDs, mp3 players or satellites.

You have to install a record player (a real turntable) with "stereo" speakers.  You'll have to decide where to mount it, but that way you can enjoy all your Beatles vinyl in classic style.  (The middle of the backseat might work--or front if you're planning on doing a lot of flipping).

Hope that thing has a cigarette lighter or else you have to run a cable straight off the battery.

Maybe God be with you.

A farmer named Clyde had a car accident.  In court, the trucking company's fancy lawyer was questioning Clyde.

"Didn't you say, at the scene of the accident, 'I'm fine,'?" asked the
lawyer.Clyde responded, "Well, I'll tell you what happened.  I had just loaded my
favourite mule, Bessie, into the..."

"I didn't ask for any details", the lawyer interrupted.  "Just answer the question.  Did you not say, at the scene of the accident, 'I'm fine!'?"

Clyde said, "Well, I had just got Bessie into the trailer and I was driving down the road...."

The lawyer interrupted again and said, "Judge, I am trying to establish the
fact that, at the scene of the accident, this man told the Highway Patrolman on the scene that he was just fine.  Now several weeks after the accident he is trying to sue my client. I believe he is a fraud. Please tell him to simply answer the question."

By this time, the Judge was fairly interested in Clyde 's answer and said to
the lawyer, "I'd like to hear what he has to say about his favorite mule, Bessie".
Clyde thanked the Judge and proceeded.

"Well as I was saying, I had just loaded Bessie, my favorite mule, into the trailer and was driving her down the highway when this huge semi-truck and trailer ran the stop sign  and smacked my truck right in the side. I was thrown into one ditch and Bessie was thrown into the other. I was hurting, real bad and didn't want to move. However, I could hear ole Bessie moaning and groaning. I knew she was in
terrible shape just b y her groans. Shortly after the accident a Highway Patrolman came on the scene. He could hear Bessie moaning and groaning so he went over to her. After he looked at her, and saw her fatal condition, he took out his gun and shot her between the eyes.

Then the Patrolman came across the road, gun still in hand, looked at me,and said, "How are you feeling?"

"Now what the Hell would you say?"

There hasn't been a decent conversation/discussion this year yet. New members have been waiting months before they were given access (by me). I figured Liz wasn't having a look at the forum at all and I didn't see anybody else. It's true there were decent people there. I mean, when they were there.

Hahaha.

You can camp anywhere. I camped alot in 2004. The great outdoors is a tent in a hedge in a field near a river just outside an estate with lager, vodka, marijuana, mdma and ladies. That's what English kids call the great outdoors.

Those days were rather crazy.

I'd flag the alchohol and class A's (time and place and all that) but otherwise you're bang on. Took xtc once when camping and due to the lack of a dj ended up just being incredably restless ( and unable to sleep).

Have found this campsite near Brighton:http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=2366
You can have fires, lots of trees, and  no ammenities (= no car-campers)
It was number one in the "Cool Camping" book.
On the downside it might be a little new agey, but rather that than middle classey.
I'm going once the weather clears up a tad.

Hope your mom feels better.

BTW I thought of you today as I was driving my daughter to a travel soccer tournament.  I saw this light green convertible vintage car--had to speed up to get a better look, but finally caught the guy in a sweet Fairlane sedan that had to be from the mid-60s.

The body looked impeccable and the interior too.

What a ride.

Travel Soccer?

Do they play in the back of an articulated lorry or something?
Posted by: adamzero, May 13, 2007, 12:32pm; Reply: 206
I wish.  No, it means driving an hour or so away to play other teams who are a lot better than ours.  My daughter's a goalie (with weak defenders) so she bears the brunt of the assault.  But it's making her a better "keeper."  I put on my headphones and watch the girls run up and down the field to songs from "Hello Goodbye" to "Lucifer Sam."

But the highlight was chasing down that Fairlane.  I really think Marshall needs to chop the top and make his a convertible station wagon.   ;D

My wife's friends have a restored Mustang (the "Bullitt" car) and I'm getting the bug . . . I'd really love an old MG, but I guess with two kids it'd be kinda pointless.

"Articulated Lorry" sounds like a great album, song or band name.

chop the wagon?????are you outta your tree???
Posted by: adamzero, May 14, 2007, 3:09am; Reply: 208
If you had seen this guy in the convertible . . . .

Now don't ask me where or how you get a top for it.  Has there ever been a convertible station wagon?

Jim Hacksaw Reynolds would probably be willing to give you a hand.

Posted by: adamzero, May 14, 2007, 5:57pm; Reply: 210
Hell, now you're talking---just head down to Cypress Gardens and borrow the glass from those glass-bottomed boats.  (Maybe take a mermaid for a ride?)

For that matter, the Fairlane looks pretty watertight--anyway this baby can become amphibious?

Fit as a cello with a broken string! I'm OK. I'm told I may need surgery on my right hip, which doesn't sound like much fun to me.

the red truck is fixed but i had to leave over the holidaze... wait read about it here http://com1.runboard.com/bthemoondogs.f18.t183665
so  while it was wrecked for a few weeks i decided to buy one off the company i work for,a ford f250 deisel truck,i figured 100 a week was easier than renting one but after 4 days that one quit.....wot the f***??....so yesterday the red one is fixed but i get stuck on a job,2 guys were no shows and 1 left early...so i could not go get the truck, because if i am roofing your house it has to be done that day, and the legalities of the situation is i have to switch the insurance back on the red truck from the black truck and reregister the tag at 2 different places....why not one place??because that would be too easy....so i asked the guy can you drop the red one off at the shop??he did this but i was still working on your house(lol) realize this too b4 the holidays our government offices close up tighter than a little goats' a** at 5 pm(5 in the afternoon) so at 5:30 i iknew i was not going to get the red truck registered and home that day so it sits and waits till monday when the goats a** opens up again...i did fail to mention that i was borrowing a truck from the shop to work after the deisel died and i hit a van in the a** end wednesday and the guying is suing say he is ruined for life...my back still pains me....i need to find a softer line of work i guess....blue collarism sucks...daddy always said earn a living with your head not your back....i guess he was right about that too....

Problems occur as the Dutch publisher don't really fancy to publish a book in English with uncertain income, or have an expensive translation into German with the same uncertainties. I will have to look abroad I guess.

Tidbits you did not know..

Everyone should know this...    Tidbits you did not know you
needed to know..
In George Washington's days, there were no cameras.  One's image was
either
sculpted or painted.  Some paintings of George Washington showed him
standing behind a desk with one arm behind his back while others showed
both
legs and both arms.  Prices charged by painters were not based on how
many
people were to be painted, but by how many limbs were to be painted.
Arms
and legs are "limbs," therefore painting them would cost the buyer
more.
Hence the expression, "Okay, but it'll cost you an arm and a leg."
************************************************************
** As incredible as it sounds, men and women took baths only twice a
year
(May and October)!  Women kept their hair covered, while men shaved
their
heads (because of lice and
bugs) and wore wigs.  Wealthy men could afford good wigs
made from wool.  They couldn't wash the wigs, so to clean
them they would carve out a loaf of bread, put the wig in
the shell, and bake it for 30 minutes.  The heat would make
the wig big and fluffy, hence the term "big wig."  Today we often use
the
term "here comes the Big Wig" because someone appears to be or is
powerful
and wealthy.
************************************************************
** In the late 1700s, many houses consisted of a large room with only
one
chair.Commonly, a long wide board folded down from the wall, and was
used
for dining. The "head of the household" always sat in the chair while
everyone else ate sitting on the floor  Occasionally a guest, who was
usually a man, would be invited to sit in this chair during a meal. To
sit
in the chair meant you were important and in charge. They called the
one
sitting in the chair the "chair man" Today in business, we use the
expression or title "Chairman" or "Chairman of the Board."

** Personal hygiene left much room for improvement.  As a result, many
women
and men had developed acne scars by adulthood.  The women would spread
bee's
wax over their facial skin to smooth out their complexions. When they
were
speaking to each other, if a woman began to stare at another woman's
face
she was told, "mind your own bee's wax." Should the woman smile, the
wax
would crack, hence the term "crack a smile"  In addition, when they sat
too
close to the fire, the wax would melt . . . therefore, the expression
"losing face."

** Ladies wore corsets, which would lace up in the front.  A proper and
dignified woman, as in "straight laced". . . wore a tightly tied lace.

** Common entertainment included playing cards.  However,
there was a tax levied when purchasing playing cards but
only applicable to the "Ace of Spades."  To avoid paying the tax,
people
would purchase 51 cards instead. Yet, since most games require 52
cards,
these people were thought to be stupid or dumb because they weren't
"playing
with a full deck."

Early politicians required feedback from
the public to determine what the people considered
important.  Since there were no telephones, TV's or radios,
the politicians sent their assistants to local taverns, pubs
, and bars.  They were told to "go sip some ale" and listen
to people's conversations and political concerns. Many assistants were
dispatched at different times.  "You go sip here" and "You go sip
there."
The two words "go sip" were eventually combined when referring to the
local
opinion and, thus we have the term "gossip."

** At local taverns, pubs, and bars, people drank from pint
and quart-sized containers. A bar maid's job was to keep an
eye on the customers and keep the drinks coming. She had to
pay close attention and remember who was drinking in "pints" and who
was
drinking in "quarts," hence the term "minding your "P's and Q's."

** One more: bet you didn't know this!
In the heyday of sailing ships, all war ships and many freighters
carried
iron cannons.  Those cannons fired round iron cannon balls.  It was
necessary to keep a good supply near the cannon.  However, how to
prevent
them from rolling about the deck?  The best storage method devised was
a
square-based pyramid with one ball on top, resting on four resting on
nine,
which rested on sixteen.  Thus, a supply of 30 cannon balls could be
stacked
in a small area right next to the cannon.  There was only one
problem...how
to prevent the bottom layer from sliding or rolling from under the
others.
The solution was a metal plate called a "Monkey" with 16 round
indentations.
However, if this plate were made of iron, the iron balls would quickly
rust
to it. The solution to the rusting problem was to make "Brass Monkeys."
Few
landlubbers realize that brass contracts much more and much faster than
iron
when chilled. Consequently, when the temperature dropped too far, the
brass
indentations would shrink so much that the iron cannonballs would come
right
off the monkey.  Thus, it was quite literally, "Cold enough to freeze
the
balls off a brass monkey."  (All this time, you thought that was an
improper
expression, didn't you.)
