0001-0050 - A Beginning
0051-0250 - Mean Mr Mustard
0251-1000 - Getting Better
1001+ That Means a Lot
10000+ - Sun King (and maybe these members could get a special colour)

What do you reckon?

I saw a forum once doing something similar. They had something in orders like:

Monkee - 0-25 posts
Fool On The Hill - 25-50
Little Child 50 -100
Apple Scruff - 100-150
Nowhere Man 150-200
Day Tripper 200-500
Rocky Raccoon
Wild Honey Pie
Mr Moonlight
Dr Robert
Taxman

etcetera. Must say I find it a bit boring.  I like Alan's idea using songtitles in a more abstract way. The gap between 1000+ to 10000+ is somewhat big.

They're now called 'baby member'. I tried to get rid of that asap. Then I became 'minimum member'. That's not very flattering either.

The idea behind my numbering system was that I thought it would be good if new members were encouraged to attain certain new levels quickly then as they become loyal members (hopefully) they would still have benchmarks to achieve. I also thought it would be good if some of our longest serving members still had something to aim for which is why I included the 10,000+ mark as some people are already approaching that number (and one has already passed it). At the moment it seems like you achieve 'maximum member' status really quickly and then that's how you stay forever.

Just an idea to make things a bit more interesting :)

1000-2500: all her words of kindness
2500-5000: words are flying out
5000-10000: please mr postman
10000-20000: writing the words of a sermon
20000-50000: words of love you whisper

There's a couple of colour codes for the members of this forum.
First of all, there's red: these are the board administrators: Dmitry, An Apple Beatle and myself
Then there's green: the boards moderators: BlueMeanie, Sandra and harihead
Purple: special members. Started by pc31 who wanted to be purple and later given to Bill Harry and The End.
Orange: given to members in the category Sun King: over 10,000 posts. Currently there's just raxo.
And then there's blue: That Means A Lot (bold blue): posters with 5,000 to 10,000 posts
Words Of Love (bold blue as well): 1,000 to 5,000 posts
Getting Better (normal blue): 250 to 1,000 posts
A Beginning (normal blue as well): 50 to 250 posts
One And One Is Two (normal blue again): 0 to 50 posts

So, there's different colours for different functions and different sorts of blue for people with more or less posts than others. Anyway, nothing really important of course. That is, except for the names in red. (teeth1)
