How about this? Stolen from another forum:

This is how it works. The rules have changed slightly.

Someone suggests a dare and you either take up the challenge or undertake a forfeit.

I will decide whether the dare is reasonably do-able.

The person that suggests the dare will decide the forfeit.

This is supposed to be fun so anything that is not too humiliating will be accepted as a dare or forfeit.

How about scheduling chat times?  Post the schedule and I'm sure members will come.  I will.

I don't chat because I use a work computer and can only flick on and off the forum. I think the interaction isn't too bad. I have a good laugh with a few people here. I wish the nutters would hang around longer because they're good fun, but they seem to just make their "point" and then run off to eat some dirt or put their underpants on their heads or somesuch.

I like the interaction on a forum. I don't much like speaking on the phone because I can't see who I'm talking to. It must be even worse on a chat page. No disrespect to those that like them.

I'd interact, but people always seem to disappear when I'm around. Makes me feel unloved.  :'( Boo hoo.

Well, I think there are more Europeans, than non-europeans, so chances are it's going to be quieter when you're on. Then again, it's extremely quiet at the moment anyway. I think the stats show there were 19 posts on Thursday!! So don't take it personally. ;)

Where's raxo when you need him?  :P

By the way, it's quiet on other forums too. Must be the time of the year.

I was thinking of starting another quiz, to generate some interest.

we use to do sing a longs....there are so many things we can do as a group...there was the forum party...the big brother house topic....i know it takes a lot to keep the momentum going in a forum but it can't work if there are only a few pushers...when the thing slows down it just makes you wonder sometimes if we have discussed it all...my head isn't really wrapped around it as of late because i have other things escalating in my life right now....i feel kind of cheesey starting this topic now because i am likely not to follow thru...the chat room is still inching along...i got to talk with rick standbridge, greg and ollie last week...i don't know if that can be considered interaction but it helps a cause...

Every now and then some nutter flutters moth-like too near the flame and things brighten up for a while. I'm afraid some of the younger "whose the best kisser?" types might have been frightened off. I feel a bit guilty about that. Now we only have people who agree with each other, and where's the fun in that?
Posted by: pc31, February 16, 2008, 12:15pm; Reply: 14
well i disagree then.... :P but not really...it does seem right minded folk do find each other to be better conversation....and the ages do tend to seperate us....on a different beat...which beatle wife was best in the sack do you think??pattie 4 me....

I think I may have scared one off this week. The great thread resurrector. I think quite a few of them are on the Gone Troppo forum, started by someone here. You get to kiss George all day. I'd love to know what Freud would have said about this fascination with kissing a dead man!

You can only play when you have players , so come on Beatle people lets play !
Don`t we go on a forum to chat to people , not just to read a post then dissapear ?

Everybody's entitled to start a forum of their own, right Alan?  ;D  Some people might be looking for a certain atmosphere that they don't find elsewhere. DM's been a place of all kinds of Beatlesfans so far and there's always been place for threads like 'The Best Kisser' AND 'The Deeper Shade of Soul of Yer Blues' so to speak. I've always loved that atmosphere and you can pick whatever suits your charactar or state of mind. If not, then not. As long as that atmosphere is here, I'll be here. So, let nobody feel 'scared'...

I agree. It is a generally open place. :)

First of all, Sky and I are not the type of people who only think about, "Which Beatle is the best kisser?" We know a lot about The Beatles, just because we find one attractive doesn't take away from our knowledge. We started a forum of our own because we wanted a place dedicated to our favorite Beatle, where all types of fans can have an enjoyable time.I also have no "fascination with kissing a dead man!", I can proudly and truthfully say that I don't like Geroge just for his physical appearance, I also liked the person that he was. Some on this site are intellectual enough to realize that.
I do not see why a few members on this site are only concerned with focusing on the negative aspects of The Beatles.
Lastly, I agree with Sky, I have not been scared away from DM's.

Howdy. Apologies for my original post, it was meant to be more a dig at myself, but I think my choice of words was wanting.
I am one of the negative people, and I wasn't joking when I said I feel guilty about that. I've always believed that as long as people stay civil they can post about whatever they damn well please.
In my defence I think I'm more realistic than negative, but people are always the worst judges of their own characters. There is room for us all. I'll try to be good, but I know myself too well to make any dumb promises.

I don't think anyone has been negative. I'm sure I'm one of the people the comment is aimed at. Some of us (generally the older members) are just a bit more realistic about things. We don't think any of The Beatles are God, or geniuses, and when someone starts referring to them in that way we probably get deliberately negative, in order to counter that. If that can't be read into, then that's not really our fault. It doesn't man we hate them, we wouldn't be here if we did.

I think this forum is unique in allowing people to voice their opinions without too much rancour. If I think Lennon's output post Imagine is sh*te, I should be allowed to say so, without everyone thinking I hate him. Voicing you're own opinions is not being negative.

I totally agree, I don't think of any of The Beatles as God's. But I do consider them musical geniuses, because they were. I feel like all the Beatles had flaws, but I love them very much and I'll always stick up for them.

I agree with these realistic and sensible sentiments. Except the part about their not being gods.

They could be considered musical "gods", but not like Gods.

I like your little poem in your signature by the way ;)

I agree with DSL. I would consider them gods of music in the same way I might say "my wife is a goddess in the kitchen", but not in the context of calling them "omnipotent beings that created the universe and rule over the destiny of every living thing."

Well, you're entitled to your opinion, of course, radical as it may be!

Such praise, from A/The Goddess of the Forum (pics noted), makes all the trials and tribulations (AL-W?) of this existence worthwhile!

And a grammarian to boot!

All hail THE Goddess, who has touched the hand of Best, who has touched the hand of JPG&R, and who has posted pics whose nature confirms said communion of the godly (and goddessly), and does justly confirm the pleasing aspects of said Goddess.

Ohhhhmmmmmmmmm. (Jai Guru Deva.)
