Here's a new game. Post a Beatles related picture and ask a question about it. Post the next one if you get it right.
Who's standing between John and Ringo?

Billy J. Kramer.
Next question: who's lying in the Beatles and Billy J. Kramers arms here: ;D

That's Susan Maughan. They're all celebrating their success at Victoria Embankment Gardens, London, on 10 September 1963: all were winners in the 1963 Variety Club of Great Britain Awards, held at the nearby Savoy Hotel. The Beatles won Best Vocal Record with From Me To You, as voted for by readers of Melody Maker.

No, pc answered right. It's Paul's girlfriend Dot Rhone. She got pregnant by Paul 'accidently' but had a miscarriage. She moved to Canada.

Uninformed indeed! 'Rauchen verboten' isn't French, is it? ;D In the spring of 1962 the Beatles played seven weeks at the Star Club and shared the bill for two weeks with Gene Vincent.

Ooooh, rabbit ears!!! Thank you, hh. We're so used to seeing Astrid with her Beatles haircut. When I came across this picture, I realized who that was with George. Yes, a most lovely lady.

And yes, I can imagine her being very sisterly to the very young George while the Beatles were in Germany.
Posted by: harihead, May 5, 2008, 5:09am; Reply: 55
I honestly didn't think it would be this hard. I have several pictures of Astrid with George; apparently they remained good friends. But then, George probably hugged a lot of lovely ladies in his life. :)

I don't know. I would guess Pattie is sitting next to George, although it's an odd picture of her.
How about if you guess Pattie, and I'll guess Pattie's little sister Jenny.
To quote Maureen Cleave:
Quoted Text
There seems to be an inexhaustible supply of pretty Boyd girls; her sister Jenny is a model and her younger sister Paula is the girl too much in love to eat her Shredded Wheat.
Nicely done, George! ;D

The girl Paul is hugging on (Bobber's Signature) is Jane Asher. His serious girlfriend during the early Beatle years I believe, they dated for like four years I think?? (Correct me if I'm wrong)
Everybody was sure he was gonna "Marry" her. Thats how well they fit together. But sources say, she was the "good girl", wanted to wait, that sort of thing, he cheats on her once or several times(can't remember) so long story short, she left him. He meet Linda later on and all is history.

That was mine. I got it off a web site, so if you doubt the picture, it's because I didn't have a reliable source for the photo. I have been fooled by the Internet! *weeps*
But I really think someone had better post another picture. I've lost my credibility. Bobber, go again?

The mystery deepens... There weren't many photos of Uncle George, so when I saw that one with John obviously a Beatle I was a little surprised, as he died when John was a teenager - another in the long line of people who left him in one way or another.

I'm like a dog with a bone on this one! I've looked through all my books, magazine articles, etc, and drew a blank. Then, just by googling "mimi john photo" (not even putting lennon in!!) i came up with this!
http://www.wairarapa.co.nz/times-age/weekly/2008/lennon.htmlIt explains it all! And also why Mimi went on that Aussie trip, not poor old Cyn left at home with the baby. That has often bugged me. Now I can see it was to meet up with relatives (or as Liverpudlians probably call them - rellies).
Phew, I love google!

sorry bout that, harihead! The man was George Matthews (maybe that's why the confusion?), Mimi's cousin, who had moved to New Zealand. Mimi stayed with her New Zealander relatives during the Beatle's Aussie tour, and this pic was taken in Wellington, NZ by a journalist. Try googling "mimi john photo 1964", it should come up, along with a nice article.
One day I'll learn how to post links and all that jazz, one day!
