DM's Beatles forums / Songs / Most Romantic Songs

The Beatles were great at writing romantic songs. I definitely want some of them played at my wedding. My favourites are In My Life, I Will, Something, Here There and Everywhere, as well as And I Love Her. I know they didn't write it but I also love their version of Til There Was You from The Music Man.
Anybody else want to share their favourite romantic songs from the Beatles?

HI Mairi - I had two friends do a guitar/bass vocal duet of In My Life at our wedding. Whenever we hear it on the radio now, my wife smiles and puts her hand in mine (and I feel happy too!).
The song holds up over time as well (18 years tomorrow!!).
Congrats on your upcoming nuptials!

I've always found Baby's In Black to be romantic....in a dark way. imagine being in love with a mourning widower? odd circumstance to say the least

I Will is one the the most romantic and sappiest songs EVER!

"Something"
Without a doubt. Frank Sinatra was right about this one. I've been singing this song for a long time and I still do. I've never heard someone showing feelings towards a person. Really unbelievable amazing song. Apart from "Something" I would say "P.S. I Love You", "If I Fell" and "I Will".

Something is great. But you do expect people to mention it. I think I Will deserves attention. it is seldom played on the radio. (I wonder why) But it is such a romantic song!

It's Only Love is also a great romantic song.

Real Love.
One of my personal favorites would have to be Why Don't We Do It In Road? I'm only kidding :)
For You Blue is a simple and sweet song.
There are a lot of Beatle songs, some not so typical love song, but they're there.
I've always liked the way The Beatles did Words of Love, even though it was a Buddy Holly song before, I like the way they did it.

"Something" is my favorite romantic song by the Beatles. Even Frank Sinatra said "Something" is the most beautiful love song ever written.

Some of my favorite Beatles love songs are Here, There, and Everywhere, I Will, If I Fell, All My Loving, In My Life, I Need You...the list goes on. I definitely have to have some of these played at my wedding in the distant future, my future husband better be a Beatles fan! If he's not, too bad, the songs are getting played! :)

Here's one I really love ... John's vocal on "To Know Her is to Love Her". I've got it on some boot "Silver Beatles" LP, maybe someone has it to upload. His voice is so perfect, I can't believe it. They said he had a cold during the recording session, well I think he should have had colds more often then! One of the most romantic deliveries I can think of.

I need You - Its definately a love song, but not very romantic, i would say. It just doesnt have that romantic feel about it, to me. I mean why did she say she doesnt want his loving anymore... there must be a reason, and now he is all "No dont go, i need you" :-/ :)

I want to give equal credit to John and Paul on this one, so, for John I'd say "Yes It Is" and for Paul, "I Will" (if pressed to pick only one, though, it would be "Yes It Is" -- the Anthology version is heartbreakingly beautiful).

I agree with Yes It Is Anthology Version being beautiful. Ecspecially when John didn't have anything to sing, so he resorted to "La, da-dee-di-de-di..." and then it got mixed with the finished product.
