DM's Beatles forums / Books, Magazines, Articles / Beatles' Monthly Book...who here collects???
Posted by: aspinall_lover, June 5, 2008, 2:25am
Ok..........I think I AM one of the biggest Beatle fans ever..........case in point.........I have EVERY issue of the Bestles' Monthly Book. Yes, EVERY ONE. ALL the originals from 1963-1970, all the "re-issues" in the '70's thru Record Collector Mag, and all the "starting up" issues from 1984 to the end somewhere in 2002, or 2001. Yes people, I have them all. That is what a fanatic collector I am of our fabulous foursome from Liverpool...
I told my husband I want all of these buried with me when I die...............

Thats excellent!! I wish I could claim the same! I wanted to see what they are like though so I own two of them! something like issue 38, I know one had George shaving on the front and the other is of Paul! I was happy just to have two haha, but I admire the fact you own them all!

^^^^^It "cost" me to do this. But this was a mission of mine for several years on ebay. And many trips to the bank to "transfer funds". My husband was ready to kill me. Here's just a few of them....

And my little "shrine" in my music room.......

haha that is really cool! and I bet it cost a lot, especially on ebay with other bidders! how much was it for issue number 1?
I know at the Beatle shop in Liverpool the prices are crazy in there for the monthly books

Actually, the first issue wasn't that bad. I paid maybe $100 US dollars for it. The most I've EVER paid for one issue was $175. Most of the ones I bought, I bought in "lots"...as in there may have been 20 to 100 issues in an auction. I quite a few extra copies, but it was worth what I spent to have ever one.

^^^^^^Oh, I forgot..........to me, the Beatles Book Monthly is the "holy grail" in collecting Beatles' related magazines and books.

I've got the set, I got the reissues on subscription from 1976 onwards

^^^^^^That's cool. So I'm not the only one. The mags have the best Beatles' pictures in them, don't they????

Oh yes!! The pictures were especially welcome back in the days before you could just go on the computer and find all the Beatles pics you need for your fix. I really looked forward to each one coming through the letterbox :)

Are your copies British Imports Aspie or are they American prints ?
Posted by: aspinall_lover, August 24, 2008, 8:37pm; Reply: 33
^^^^^^^^They're all Brit imports bought off of ebay...........with most of the sellers, probably 80% from England. But I know a great guy who sells on ebay from the US and goes to England twice a year and brings back a "Motherload" of Beatles stuff. He always hooks me up with the Neil Aspinall stuff...............

I have the whole lot from 1963-1969 on CD-ROM. PM me if you want the link to download it. Beware, its 450mb. Also it only works in Windows. So Mac users are out. Including me! :(
