I was sat in the garden this afternoon and i started to think about John .
My mind went back too 1980 and those interviews he did with "Andy Peoples" the BBC Radio 1 DJ , who interviewed John and Yoko prior to John's murder .
I can't remember now if they played those interviews prior to is death or after ?
What was nice was i could hear John's voice from those interviews in my head , kind of like i had opend up a memory .
And no i had'nt had a joint .
It was just a lovely bit of time i spent thinking about him .
I do miss him , it would be so nice to hear is voice again and what his thoughts are on the world today .
I suspect most of you miss him and George too , sometimes it 's not easy been a fan. I did'n t feel too sad while i was thinking of him , so lets not make this thread to sad .
Just say what you think .

He was one of a kind , i love the bit in "A Hard Days Night " when he's chatting to that actress in the corridor , i always liked the cheeky looks he gave her .
And his voice was so beautiful , that echoing sound on # 9 Dream is just magic

Whilst stumbling through YouTube I found this great video. Some guy, sat at home, created an entire reworking of Lennon's unfinished demo, "Help Me To Help Myself" much in the same way Jeff Lynne did in 1995. I don't know about you lot, but I think it's amazing and a very inspired piece of music. It works so well. It sounds like it could be one of those tunes remade in 1995. I love it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJrx66RyHF0

Last night i watched the film "The Bank Job" (2007) staring Jason Statham which is a very enjoyable heist movie which is based on the famous London bank robbery from 1971 .
And there is a cameo performance in it of John Lennon played by Lennon lookalike " Alan Swoffer " it's a none speaking role .
But it highlighted a piece of Lennon history i had not heard of John's relationship with "Michael X " who was a leading figure in the "British Black Power Movement " .
Doe's anyone know more about John's links to this movement and Michael X ?
Michael X , as quite a big part in this film , he was a pretty unsavory character , who was basically a gangster who hid behind his political persona .
He was executed in (1975) , for the murder of a British MI5 agent who also as a role in this film .
Lennon looks to have been mixing with some dodgy people in England before he left for America , no wonder he had trouble getting his Creen Card .
I'm sure the FBI would have been aware of his links to Michael X ?

Pictures of "Alan Swoffer" the Lennon lookalike who stared in the film " The Bank Job "

http://www.johnlennonlookalike.com/
Some interesting stuff on Alan Swoffer's site

The John Lennon Wall (Prague)

I'm sorry if there's another thread for this already, but I just wanted to know your views on this.

''The John Lennon Wall in Prague''

I was in Prague last summer and I searched my a** off to find this wall. When we asked some local people where the wall was, they couldn't give the answer. After a long search we finally found it and I must say it was rather dissapointing. It was just a wall full off crappy graffity, with people smoking weed in front of it. It was nice to see a tribute like this, but it wasn't that special.

What do you people think?

Just stumbled across this fascinating film on You Tube

I MET THE WALRUS
"In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced a film about it. Using the original interview recording as the soundtrack, director Josh Raskin has woven a visual narrative which tenderly romances Lennon's every word in a cascading flood of multipronged animation. Raskin marries the terrifyingly genius pen work of James Braithwaite with masterful digital illustration by Alex Kurina, resulting in a spell-binding vessel for Lennon's boundless wit, and timeless message. "
