Jack Torrance is skinny in the begining?

Don't worry Jackie, I can understand about being obsessive, although why anyone would develop an obsession over the Chief Ble Meanie or Jack Nicholson is beyond me.

I hadn't noticed Jackie being any heavier in the later part of the movie, just crazier. BTW, the Shinning is my favorite thriller.  I like Jack too, just not in the way you do.
