Hi Beatles fans,
I'm new at this forum and I'd like to say hello to everybody at the forum. I'm glad to have found this site, because in Germany there are not as much fans as you have in the states. So I'm curious to talk with you. I'm 43 years old and I live in Germany near duesseldorf. My question is your opinion about the new Capitol box-set of the first four american albums. I like the sound of most of the songs, because they sound a bit fater now. But specially I call your name and She's a woman have much to much reverb for my taste. What do you think ?
See you soon, best wishes from Germany, Klaus :)

Translation for the english speaking people :
they didn't have computers at this time, but you're right, I think, I just read about the duophonic sound. But it was new for me, how incredible it sounds, greetings, Klaus
Stimmt aber anders klingts trotzdem...
blöde find ich auch die Papphüllen, wäre Digipack auch ok gewesen.
Welcome to the forums Paperbackwriter! Hopefully you won't be as offensive and destructive as you-know-who *points above*.
Thanks for welcome Mairi,
maybe we can talk more to each other in the future. What do you think about the Capitol records they just released ? Greetings, Klaus
welcome to the forums Klaus
hi Bruno, thanks for welcome, it's an interesting site on here
Welcome Paperbackwriter (great song!) to the forum! I am new too, and maybe we will have some good discussion in the future...
I haven't gotten the Capitol box set yet, but I am hoping to after Christmas is over with and maybe the price will go down.
Talk to you soon!
welcome to the forums!
welcome klaus.yes i love the high pitched capitol releases.....america always accented rock and roll records, like gene vincent, buddy holly, chuck berry and others.its called balls to the wall sound.
thanx for welcome Herecomesyoursun and pc31,
balls to the wall sound, never heard that before, sounds good. I love the new releases too, although I don't like the few versions treated with that duophonic sound. One of my Beatle favorites, She's a woman, will be released in a new remastered version by the english EMI I hope. But good old aunty EMI is still sleeping, concerning new releases of Beatles records. I hope they will wake up one day.....
Another question, are you able in the States, to get Revolver meanwhile in the original Beatles intended version, or do they still sell you the mutilated version like in the 60'ies ?
greetings, Klaus
What really surprises me, by browsing the forums, is the fact, how many young people discuss about the Beatles. I became a real fan when I was 13 in 1974, 4 years after the Beatles split. And now, in 2004, I can see it still goes on. That's really great to see, that the Beatles music still reaches young people, although the music is that old. The Beatles are really timeless, and I love that fact. They never get old........
All you need is love, Klaus
Welcome aboard Klaus. This is a cool forum with the coolest people. Not sure what you mean about Revolver though. I agree with you, I think its great that a whole new younger generation have discovered the Beatles, just shows the the greatest band ever will stand the test of time 8).
Hello Rickenbacker325,
thanx for welcome, what I meant concerning Revolver is the fact, that the original version of that album in the stateswas missing 3 tracks in comparison to the european version, cause the company took these tracks, to fill pu an other album called yesterday and today. So the Americans made two albums of one british by filling up the rest with single a and b sides and ep tracks, to sell more records. Same happened to other albums.
Maybe you heard about the new remastered capitol box set, which includes the american albums Meet the Beatles, Second album, Beatles '65 and Something new, which never were released in Great Britain in these forms. Sgt. Pepper was the first Beatles album, which was not changed from the Beatles authorised britisch version. Even the milestones albums Rubber Soul and Revolver were mutilated by the Americans, what in my Opinion was a kind of "crime", cause the company changed the artists intended work.
Make a comparison between american and british Beatles discographies, and you'll see what I mean. Greetings, Klaus
Yes, um welcome one and all. :)
Hi GroovinUpSlowly, thanx for your welcome, greetings, Klaus
I'm not really a good computer user, can anybody tell me how I can get a photo in my text or to my Nick name. It may be funny to you, but I'm relatively new in the computer world, so please give me a help. (Help, I need somebody, Help......)
Thanx, Klaus
Not just anybody
LOL, Jake, although I like your pic, it isn't really a help for me............

I understang now what you mean. We in the states have had the European versions since EMI released the whole catalog in cd form here, and before that Capitol/ EMI stopped making the old US Capitol versions on vinyl and issued the European versions on vinyl as well. :)
Hi Rickenbacker325,
that's interesting to hear, so I'm very curious, whether capitol will also rerelease the remaining captiol albums (The Early Beatles, Beatles VI, Yesterday and Today and theUS Version of Revolver) on remastered CD versions. By the way, it may be intersting for you, that EMI Germany in the 60'ies released a mix by British and US Albums. Although they released for example A Hard Day's Night in the same version like the British EMI did, they also released Something New, although there a partly the same songs on it. Same EMI Germany did with Beatles for Sale they simultaneously released that and Beatles '65. A politic of publishing, which irritated me, when I was a teenie, and I bought both of them.
That's it for the moment, greetings, Klaus

Thanx for help pc31, I'll try that
hi Klaus, 45 here from maryland, usa, almost the same age.....anyway, i like the american Rubber Soul much better, probably since i wore it out as a kid and still do....it's hard for me to get used to the british one....but it's just a matter of being used to it the american way.....all the songs are great, even if you get them on different albums....i have the new 4 cd set sitting in my christmas stocking! dying to sneak it out....always a kid here....welcome to the site....it's full of great people of all ages and places! merry christmas everyone!
Hi Billy Shields,
thanx for your welcome, I can understand your opinion very well. I bought the LP SOMETHING NEW (which was released here in Germany bei EMI as well) when I was 14, and hearing it today, it has the typicall effect you probably know, after a song is finished, I know in my mind, which one will be the follow up. So I'm shure, for you Americans it is a nice thing, that capitol rereleased the American versions now. I like them too, because for the first time I can listen to stereo versions of the WITH THE BEATLES album on CD now, which was unintelligible not published in stereo bei EMI 'til now. And by the way, I like the covers of the Box set very much too.
Merry Xmas, Klaus
pc31, as you see, it worked, thanx again for your help. Klaus
