I've become a bit of a Football (Soccer) World Cup tragic. Watching most of the games or at least the highlights. I've noticed two recurring advertisements throughout the coverage. One for Rexona deodorant using Don't Let Me Down, the original recording rather than a cover, and one for AirBnB using the original recording of Come Together.
It's funny there was a time when using original Beatle recordings in advertisements was controversial. Nay, sacrilege! I think the first was using Revolution for Nike not long after Sony bought the publishing rights.
Hardly raises an eyebrow now.
I've seen/heard the come together one. Yeah, it was a point of pride I think back when they were not used at all in ads. Like everything, the $ rules.

Yeah I've noticed those.
Another one I've seen is 'Something in the way she moves' for a car add.
Did you watch the England game?

Yep sure did. Was a good game. Must have been nerve wracking for an England fan.
England did well with 10 players.
The Norway Brazil match was good too
I've now got up early (around 5:00am) to watch four matches. Every match the team I was supporting lost. I should have stayed in bed. 😂

I hope you at least had some good coffee at hand. 😉
I've seen posts online from fans quite disappointed that England lost to Argentina.
I think everyone but Argentinians wanted England to win. 😏
England haven't won since 1966 so it would been nice.

I'm an England fan and like most others was disgusted at the managers tactics after they went one up.

I'm no soccer expert but my mind was boggled by their approach.

I wasn't too keen on the Argentina team's actions during and after the final game, especially when they all turned their backs on Spain during the trophy presentation. I thought that was pretty unsportsmanlike and that the head coach shouldn't have permitted it. He had even said "We are gracious in victory, and we must be so in defeat," so what happened to that?
But that was the only game I watched; I may be missing some context and unaware of the full picture.

The general view I've picked up is that the Argentinian team are not particularly nice or gracious. They seemed to want go out of their way to prove that.
I was happy to see Spain win.
Argentina have always been dirty cheating bas----s
They kicked England around too.
I'm so glad Spain won it.
