Oh Boy!
Wait till The End sees this.
John sings aaaahhhh! (see analysis section).
Always thought John sung it!
Interesting site.
It's just an opinion of the author that John's singing the 'aaaaahhh'. As I have analysed myself, John is singing the first part of this 'aaaaaahhh', Paul the second part'.

It was John.
The site looks great and I was really looking forward to delving in. However, I must admit I was a little disappointed with the quality of the analysis. As Bobber said, it's written as opinion and some of the observations seem a little obvious. Great potential though - maybe they could even feature something about the great "whose aaaahs?" debate!
And, in case anyone missed the discussion, just to recap - I am of the opinion that it is Paul who sings the 'aaaahs'. I always thought it was John but when the CD came out in the eighties I played the album over and over and realised it was in fact Paul! Then Mr Charlie uploaded the 5.1 vocal only mix and to my ears it confirmed what I'd suspected: it's clearly Paul!
It's so weird though - there are obviously some VERY knowledgable Beatle experts on this forum but we obviously hear different things and will not be persuaded that it's not who we think it is! It all boils down to the fact that you can't make people hear what you hear.
Here's the link to the 5.1 mixes: http://www.geocities.com/the_end_gb/dmforum/day.html

That's funny.^ And we are still undecided about the Ahhh's after all that. Let's all write Paul. After he gets hundreds of letters asking the same question, maybe he'll hold a press conference to reveal the answer to the great unsolved mystery that's driving Beatles fans crazy everywhere. Or at least at DM's. :D

i think they sound alot like the aaahhhhs in lucy in the sky with diamonds which believe me to be led towards the john side....but the blending of the two seems more feasible...john then both john drops paul continues john joins back in and paul stops...ya dig???come on and zoom zoom a zoom
I think they sound a lot like the aahhhs at the beginning of Lovely Rita. Which of course led to the Paul side. But I agree with the blending thing. I hear Paul at the beginning and then John. But Paul can sound like John, so it could be him all the way.
Quote from: MaccalvrI hear Paul at the beginning and then John. But Paul can sound like John, so it could be him all the way.
Now that we seem to agree that it is BOTH of them, let's not get further discussions on who sings FIRST. ;D It's John first, then Paul. Please.

Well than how about this one: Who's doing the ooooo ooooo at the end of While My Guitar Gently Weeps? Not the oh oh the ooo ooo going through it. It's Paul right? This is a much easier one to figure out.
This is hilarious.
Doesn't the fact that on Anthology 2, Paul has a sort of heavy echoe thing on his voice not unlike the echoe thing on the Ahhh Ahhhs, mean anything?
And what is he talking about at the end about people thinking they're up to something?? Just wondering!
Aha - I pointed that out before actually! You're referring to the "woke up, fell out of bed..." segment right? On the Anthology version there is a lot of tape echo on Paul's voice, just like there is on the 'aaaaaah' section.
Congrats Al on your 6K. I'm sticking to my position on this one. lol
Cheers mate! ;D
I think we'll just have to agree to... erm... nah... you're wrong! hee hee ;)

I thought it was mentioned before. It sounded familiar. Of course you are smart enough to notice that years before me! Anyway, seriously, what is Paul talking about at the end and is that on the Anthology DVDs?? Cuz if it is, I can't remember.
The jibberish at the VERY end of the album? It is pretty much indecipherable and everyone has their own take on what is being said... including some obscene! To my ears it sounds like "never could see any all the way..."!

As for the echo argument, the most echo on this Anthology version is on Mal Evans' counting - so does that mean it's probably MAL doing the "aaaaaaaaaaaaaahs"?

Thanks! But I still don't know what he's going on about. It doesn't sound much like a direction.
It's just Paul trying to justify himself and his ideas to an orchestra of "real" musicians! Have you seen the promo of A Day In The Life - you can see Paul conducting the orchestra.
It seems to be that, yep, ... tho the promo is disconcerting we can see Paul conducting the orchestra (it's been said that Sir George was doing it too).
Can anybody imagine an alternate explanation?
Yeah, that makes sense. I've seen the promo and heard him talk about the musicians and stuff. I mean, I can see him explaining it in his cryptic way. Sort of like his one sided conversation with John in the Let it Be movie. Thanks for the info!
Yeah, just listen to Paul trying to get across his ideas to Michael Lindsay-Hogg during the Let It Be/Get Back sessions!!!!! Similar sort of 'discussion'!

So T.E. I can only imagine that Rax is sore at me because he got himself into all kinds of knots concerning Sun King.
He now thinks I've got a personal vendetta against him.
I don't mind answering him on any specific point but unfortunately he prefers to communicate in gibberish whenever he feels threatened.
To get back to the subject of this interesting thread, I was only pointing out that I don't think the presence of echo on the Anthology extract is any real indication as to who is singing those famous aaaaaaaaahs.
If Rax, or anybody else has anything constructive to add to the debate then I'd be pleased to hear from him or her.

The End asked and I answered ... I don't need you to interpret, can you understand this or is it gibberish to you?
You made an observation on reply 46, then I gave you explanation -I think that a clear one- on reply 47, but that was not enough for you ... you'd to try (let's say it politely) to show yourself (reply 48 ) ... I tried not to be too explicit on reply 49 (only the peole who'd already read those two threads knew what was all about ... but, once more, that was not enough for you ... it seemed that you wanted -insisting- an embarrasing situation ... for you!!! (replies 60 and 63) ... I'd already said it on the second thread: you're impossible ... a shame ...
I'd like to ask you two things, zipi:
1. Please, be true to reality ... if you're able to, of course. Don't invent, if you can.Whoever'd read carefully those threads knows what I mean:
sore? why? ... knots, me?! Oh my God, it was YOU!!! Don't distort facts: I had already explained it all on the "quoted/administrated" post on reply 0 or 10 (choose one)...
vendetta? How? where? ... who needs to add things -when I'm already gone- to "show" -but confusing people once more- to world that your point of view it's "ratified" -I'm still wondering
who could have told you such a wrong thing about that word-.
Are you playing the Saint now (replies 60 and 63)?: those words about "don't mind answering ... " are mine -second thread, reply 33- (after all, I've answered to you -quite clearly- on reply 48 ) so don't try to change the siuation ... don't distort the facts again!
About gibberish ... deja vu here: whenever you don't (want to) understand something you call it simply gibberish ... sadly, that's got a name.
2. Please, don't tell what I think or how I feel if you don't have a clue 'cos I've never told anything 'bout that ... try to be correct once (need I to remind you who was disrespectful? tho he wouldn't get the same response ... did that hurt you then? ... sorry but you're not going to get that kind of behaviour
from me ... and that's a thing you've got to live with ...)
I don't mind if you want to play the saint now -I prefer it, of course, if you ask me ... 'cos the role of the clown was chosen by me, do you remember?- (I've got more interesting things to do than to unmask you ... those two threads tell all).
But it seems that when you begin these kind of (off-topic) things ... the only way to stop them is: "this is my last post on this thread ... now you've got all the space you want to spread whatever you want, to calumniate or to twist my words once more, to tell truths and lies to the world to believe in, ... but always without me"
It was a quite constructive and peaceful debate 'till your reply 48, zipi ... and you were clever enough to try (a bit late, tho) to get back to it ... but I want it constructive and peaceful too, so ...
... so here I go again: this is my last post on this thread ... I'm leaving now ... but my words (no few) re-main.
I'm very sorry for all that ...
Peace for everybody ... with no exclusion!
P.S. Oops, ... Mark's asking me if you're going to buy his
coming Trilogy of Bibles ... knowing your new condition!!! ...

This topic just does something to people. Who would think that out of all Beatles related discussions, this one would bring out the most animosity from people.
I was watching episode 5 (or was it 6) of the Director's Cut Anthology DVDs (bootlegs!) last night and there is a MASSIVE clip of George Martin messing around with the 4 track master of A Day In The Life (not the same clip as the South Bank Show's 'Making of Sgt Pepper')!!!
This footage was completely cut from the released video and DVD!!
So it's getting closer and closer to the 'aaaah' section and George is fading each of the four tracks in and out, describing who's doing what and I'm thinking - this is it, we're finally gonna find out once and for all!!! Then it goes and cuts to the bloody 'musical orgasm' section!!!
Someone somewhere has the footage of THAT segment!! Now I want to see the director's cut of the director's cut of the Antholgy DVDs!
