Out Of Me Head

This is wonderful. KE from his Radio One show in 1969 demonstrates how The Beatles did the vocal parts for Julia off The White Album

Kenny Everett sings 'Julia' by The Beatles (Radio 1, 1969)

Kenny Everett's TV show was awesome. I was just a teenager and to see Hot Gossip onscreen was, well, you know...
A lot of his skits were quite racy for the time too. Captain Kremmen was brilliant!

He was responsible for Bohemian Rhapsody being a huge hit too.

Loved the Julia clip! And Bill Wyman was game for a laugh doing that impression of Mick Jagger!  ha2ha

I used to watch the Kenny Everett show avidly, can't believe it was family viewing back then.  I wouldn't sit my kids down to watch it now! What a prude I am.
...once there was a way to get back homeward ...

The Kenny Everett radio doc from 2008, mentioned above, got a repeat on BBC 4 Extra at the weekend.

The guy was an absolute genius, one of the very few in popular culture, and was every bit on the cutting edge of youth in the 60s as The Beatles, The Stones and Bob Dylan.

It's a travesty that the Xmas flexis, two of which were virtually Everett/Beatles productions, have never been officially released on CD.
If we live in a world where huge box sets of 'Wings At The Speed of Sound' can exist, there must be room for a 1-CD release of 'From Then To Us'!

It gets better though, BBC 4 Extra is airing the first of 25 episodes of 'Captain Kremmen' tonight.
