Who is this man with the Beatles around 1963/1964?

Is that the actor Sir John Gielgud?

Actually, looking behind the Beatles you can see written on the wall "Suzie Wong", which (according to my friend Google!) was a play performed at the Prince Of Wales Theatre in London in the late 1950s/early 1960s. The Beatles performed at that same theatre for the Royal Variety Performance in November 1963, so that photo could have been taken then. The "wall" actually looks like it is part of a wooden stage set.
Wikipedia doesn't list Sir John Gielgud as one of the performers in that Royal Variety show (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Royal_Variety_Performances) but as a well-known actor and director he could have been among the audience that night.

The Beatles played the same theatre only once more - in May 1964 as part of Epstein's "Summer Pops" series of concerts - so that is another possibility.

The tailor in AHDN is the Beatles' actual tailor, Dougie Millings.
He made the band their first suits with the famous collarless jackets - the ones they are wearing in that photo.

Cor, that was attention to detail! An actual tailor playing the tailor! :D

Well, whoever they are, the boys are hanging in their every word! Especially the first lucky lady!

That first lady looks like Tracy Chapman or Joan Armatrading, but it isn't her of course. She does have a familiar face though.

Also if you scroll really fast between those two pictures, it looks like Paul hasn't moved, just changed expression. Weird.

I was going to suggest Millie Small (she performed "My Boy Lollipop" on the Around The Beatles TV show), but she had bigger hair ...

Unless the "big" hair was a wig and that backstage photo was her real haircut. The faces look like the same girl.
