Hi Beatles fans,

I'm new at this forum and I'd like to say hello to everybody at the forum. I'm glad to have found this site, because in Germany there are not as much fans as you have in the states. So I'm curious to talk with you. I'm 43 years old and I live in Germany near duesseldorf. My question is your opinion about the new Capitol box-set of the first four american albums. I like the sound of most of the songs, because they sound a bit fater now. But specially I call your name and She's a woman have much to much reverb for my taste. What do you think ?
See you soon, best wishes from Germany, Klaus :)

Translation for the english speaking people :
they didn't have computers at this time, but you're right, I think, I just read about the duophonic sound. But it was new for me, how incredible it sounds, greetings, Klaus

Stimmt aber anders  klingts trotzdem...

blöde find ich auch die Papphüllen, wäre Digipack auch ok gewesen.

Welcome to the forums Paperbackwriter! Hopefully you won't be as offensive and destructive as you-know-who *points above*.
I am posting on an internet forum, therefore my opinion is fact.

Paperbackwriter

Thanks for welcome Mairi,

maybe we can talk more to each other in the future. What do you think about the Capitol records they just released ?  Greetings, Klaus

welcome klaus.yes i love the high pitched capitol releases.....america always accented rock and roll records, like gene vincent, buddy holly, chuck berry and others.its called balls to the wall sound.

Paperbackwriter

thanx for welcome Herecomesyoursun and pc31,

balls to the wall sound, never heard that before, sounds good. I love the new releases too, although I don't like the few versions treated with that duophonic sound. One of my Beatle favorites, She's a woman, will be released in a new remastered version by the english EMI I hope. But good old aunty EMI is still sleeping, concerning new releases of Beatles records. I hope they will wake up one day.....
Another question, are you able in the States, to get Revolver meanwhile in the original Beatles intended version, or do they still sell you the mutilated version like in the 60'ies ?
greetings, Klaus

What really surprises me, by browsing the forums, is the fact, how many young people discuss about the Beatles. I became a real fan when I was 13 in 1974, 4 years after the Beatles split. And now, in 2004, I can see it still goes on. That's really great to see, that the Beatles music still reaches young people, although the music is that old. The Beatles are really timeless, and I love that fact. They never get old........
All you need is love, Klaus

RICKENBACKER325

Welcome aboard Klaus. This is a cool forum with the coolest people. Not sure what you mean about Revolver though. I agree with you, I think its great that a whole new younger generation have discovered the Beatles, just shows the the greatest band ever  will stand the test of time 8).

Hello Rickenbacker325,
thanx for welcome, what I meant concerning Revolver is the fact, that the original version of that album in the stateswas missing 3 tracks in comparison to the european version, cause the company took these tracks, to fill pu an other album called yesterday and today. So the Americans made two albums of one british by filling up the rest with single a and b sides and ep tracks, to sell more records. Same happened to other albums.
Maybe you heard about the new remastered capitol box set, which includes the american albums Meet the Beatles, Second album, Beatles '65 and Something new, which never were released in Great Britain in these forms. Sgt. Pepper was the first Beatles album, which was not changed from the Beatles authorised britisch version. Even the milestones albums Rubber Soul and Revolver were mutilated by the Americans, what in my Opinion was a kind of "crime", cause the company changed the artists intended work.
Make a comparison between american and british Beatles discographies, and you'll see what I mean. Greetings, Klaus
