Quote from: 1443Hello people, I'm new on this forum.  :)

I'm only 17 years old, so my knowledge on The Beatles is quite limited. So you could consider me a newbie. ;)
I've been listening to differents genre's of music for all my life and I've always loved the well known songs of The Beatles. Then my father gave me some Beatles LP's and CD's he owned from way back and I fell in love with their music.

Peace,

Dante.

my parents played it as I was a baby so I grew from there

Nobody played them to me, my parents have always been interested in another kind of music. I was 10 years old when suddenly i heard them and realized it was something different. This was love at first sight, or rather at first sound. Such love never dies, it will stay with me till the end.

Hi, I'm new here and this is a great topic!!! (Great board too!)

As long as I can remember I've been listening to The Beatles.  My dad has had the albums from when he was 13 or 14 and we used to listen to them when I was growing up.  My first real memory of when I realized who the Beatles are (or I guess were) was when I was about 10 we got my dad the Beatles 1 for his birthday and we were listening to it and I was looking through the liner notes and I saw a picture from the Let It Be shoots and was like "Oh!!!  That guy with the glasses is hot!!"  LOL!!!  My dad then had to break that news to me.  I have been obsessed ever since!!!!!!

Quote from: 1415Funny, but this is one of those very distinct, crystal clear memories. My big brother and his fiancee in the front seats of his car, me and my best buddy in back. Autumn, 1963. Night. We were being driven to our local theater to be dropped off to see an Elvis movie. Girls Girls Girls? Anyway, She Loves You came on the top 40 station, WLS, my bro turned it up and said "This is that band from England with the long hair!" I was hooked, and have remained so.

Woah, that is so awesome!!!
I always wondered what it was like back then, watching the Beatles grow up.

When i was younger, my babysitters son first introduced me! He was a Beatle addict, i mean serious [BEATLE] ADDICT! hah
Not a inch of his bedroom could be seen without a sign of "Beatle!" hah
But of course, then, i was to young to fully understand their brilliance!
But all is good now, I assure you. lol
I am a fan aren't I.

Twas late August of '65 (I was about to enter kindergarten).  My oldest sister's friend had just seen the Beatles at (the since demolished to make room for the Mall of America) Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington, Minnesota, and she wouldn't stop talking about them (the oddest/funniest memory, though, is that she said that her parents were disappointed that Ringo was Jewish, the implication being that, otherwise, the band was perfect!).

My sis and her friend would sit in her room and listen to "I Want to Hold Your Hand", endlessly (except for "I Feel Fine", it's always been my favorite early Beatles song).  I have other fleeting Beatles memories from those days.....the looooonnnnnnnnnng 45 of "Hey Jude", my dad dismissing the Beatles (as he did all other R&R musicians) as "on dope" (Mr. Hand, anyone?), listening to my first entire album in one sitting (Sgt Pepper's), applying "Yellow Submarine" stickers to my Matchbox case.

Ah, there's nothing like a trip down mammary lane, especially when it comes to the Alpha and the Omega of popular music.
