I'm pretty sure I was in the womb when Beatlemania first came into my life. Looking back at the past 30(something) years, I cannot think of a day where the four lads from Liverpool didn't feel more like family than most of my family and their music didn't comfort or entertain me, soothe my soul, or bring me joy!

While I love a wide base and variety of musicians and bands, no one will ever come close to The Beatles in my eyes.

^  Great post, Maccagirl64.  The Beatles are truly special and one of a kind.  They have brought a great deal of joy to my life as well.

Also, welcome!  :)

When I was really little, my parents would always play the White Album for me - "Julia" was the track I heard the most. I'd sit on my daddy's lap and he'd bounce me up and down while mum sang the words and tousled my hair. They quickly gave up on that, though, when I entered middle school and tried to get with the "crowd"... dressing in pink and miniskirts, memorizing Hilary Duff songs, obsessing over jewelry and makeup... those were the weirdest two years of my life, and probably the times I learned the most about myself. In September of my 8th grade year, I saw a photograph of the Beatles on my English teacher's wall, a little seed was planted in my mind. When I went to Border's not long after, I decided to buy the Beatles CD, LOVE. I fell in LOVE (hah) after my third or fourth listen - my parents thought I was crazy but they were proud of me for giving one of their favorite groups a chance. I'm pretty proud of myself... And when I first heard MY song, "Julia", after all those years, I sat down and cried. I even met a boy who shares the same love for the Beatles, and we are incredibly happy together... :)

I LOVE THE BEATLES!!! :D
Who knows how long I've loved you?
You know I love you still.
Will I wait a lonely lifetime?
If you want me to, I will

I was 10-just 3 years ago-and my mom found a cassette of 1. our car we had then had a cassette player, so she played itin the  car. After a few listens i went online and ordered the Beatles complete CD collection. my mom, a huge fan(who never talked about them ,strangely enough) and i brought it for 200 sterling(great investment!). this got me onto their solo careers , and then on to all types of class music(queen, stones, led zep, fleetwood mac, beach boys to name just a few)

I bought "1" on a whim when I was a freshman in high school.
Love, love is a verb. Love is a doing word.

Excellent! wow a "1" cassette... never seen one

Short and Sweet and to the point, Harlena!

The 1 album seems a very good Beatles starter

Arsenal is forever England and England is forever Arsenal

I think radio was my biggest introducing to The Beatles' music, maybe not, but the very first songs that I ever heard from The Beatles was from a radio... ahh, and I still have it hehehehe.

My parents played me Beatles music from the day I was born. Supposedly at one time there was a video of me when I was three years old stark naked singing "I Want to Hold Your Hand". Thankfully this no longer exists. :)

I went on my own though and listened to the garbage my friends listened to until I was 14 and the Beatles Anthology aired on TV. I watched it because it was on and my parents practically glued my butt to the couch, insisting I get some cultural experience. By the time the Free as a Bird video aired, I was in tears, and life was never the same.

I started by buying my mom three Beatles CD's for Christmas that year and then immediately after she opened then, stealing them and memorizing all the songs on them word for word. It wasn't until they showed me Hard Days Night and the 1964-hysterical-girl trapped inside me came out and I literally was jumping up and down squealing did I finally admit defeat. I've been a huge fan ever since.

Hello Goodbye

Why do parents always take embarassing videos like that?  Similar footage of my bathing suit being changed by the backyard swimming pool has also disappeared.   ;)

Great story there, beatlemaniac!  You no doubt heard Beatles music in utero.  You just had to turn out this way!
I can stay till it's time to go

Ok, I must write this in here again, this is a quote that I found on a friend's facebook page and I think it describes youself (and myself in a way): Everybody's born knowing all the Beatles lyrics instinctively. They're passed into the fetus subconsciously along with all the amniotic stuff. Fact, they should be called "The Fetals".

Deb

I'm new here so I thought this would be a good place to begin.  I discovered the Beatles in 1964, when my older sister became a fan.  She even took me to the premiere of A Hard Day's Night at our local theatre.  I think I was only little kid there.....and the teenage girls screamed throughout the entire film!  I still have the ticket stub in an old scrapbook.

Penny Lane

^  Wonderful!  I'm so impressed that you kept that old ticket stub.  Welcome! :)
