Nice bump, Kelley.

Until I bought The Complete Beatles Songbook, I had trouble hearing the correct lyric in I'm A Loser.  John had to make "And so it's true, pride comes before a fall" fit the melody.  It was a bit awkward as you can see by the face he makes...

The Beatles I'm a loser
i heard something else also. only lyrics i have gotten wrong were that line you just mentioned and that piano line from Berry's rock and roll music. at least i got the if you wanna' dance with me, the folks dancing got all shook up and my tears are falling like rain from the sky lines right.

At first I thought "Goo goo ga joob" was "look, look at you" which could have made sense in the context of the song where the lyrics were inviting self-evaluation.
so innocent, so totally innocent. now i just scat it or make it a very plain koo koo ka-choo not wishing to offend anyone within earshot.  :P
day tripper yeah

That line puzzled me too and I actually remember what I was doing when I finally figured it out. It was a big moment.  ;) Great video...you knew I'd like the face. :)

blmeanie

Back in my adolescent youth, my good friend one day sang :

"She's got a d*ck in her eye"

instead of

"She's got a ticket to ride"

While funny at the time, it ruined the song for me for years.  Therapy helped though.   ;)

Hello Goodbye

So you have that all straight now, blmeanie?    ;D
I can stay till it's time to go

When I play the song on guitar I sometimes flub the lyric like this...And so it's true, pride becomes for a fall

I wonder if John would mess up the lyric like that and try extra hard to get it right in concert.

I've heard that John was notorious for forgetting lyrics. He would often write them on his hand but his eyesight was so poor that even with his glasses on he had a hard time seeing them. Poor guy.

Kelly McCartney

'Paperback Writer'

Real lyric: "Dear sir or ma'am"
What I heard: "Please sir old man"
All we are saying is give peace a chance.
