Well I broke down and bought this, even though someone on youtube had gained possession of the game a few days early and had already posted ciips of himself playing most of the tunes on the expert level. So that removed the element of suprise from the game, but it's not bad. I'm a guitar player and Dhani was right when he said that musicians should play this game on the HARD or EXPERT level since those level are more accurate to the actual rhythm and note structure of the songs. (As accurate as you can get with 4 buttons and a flipper for a pick!)

One thing that is worth noting is, as the game progresses into the later years, you see the cartoon Beatles performing songs that are as close to what you would imagine them looking like had they actually made videos for such songs as Octopus' Garden,  While MY Guitar Gently Weeps, Here Comes The Sun, etc. The only thing that seems like an ebellishment is, John looks a little too happy and clean during that stage of their career :) That not withstanding, I play it every day now, its a fun little Beatle thing to stick into my day, even if it is for 10 minutes or so..

The best thing is I unlocked the secret Phillipines Tour, where you play a raucous set and then you have to beat up on the Beatles and their staff as they run through the airport trying to get home.. Being a true Beatles fan I didn't have the heart to give any of the Beatles a pounding so Mal and Derek bore the brunt of my wrath :)

(That last part is a joke :))
"Someone told me a few minutes ago they saw John walking on the street once wearing a button saying "I Love Paul." And this girl said she asked him, "Why are you wearing a button that says ' I Love Paul'? He said "Because I love Paul."

A wheelchair using, none musician, who has some mobility issues - is it still worth me buying the game?

If you can move your hands and fingers, then I would say yes. You'll enjoy it.

It's very addictive game was playing it last night Mum was playing guitar, Dad was on drums and I was singing, I did pretty well but struggled to sing A little help, Good Morning & Taxman (I don't normally sing these songs). Great fun

One thing I should note, if you get the full rockband, the drums require the use of a foot pedal on all but the easy setting.

I usually have a lot of fun with the guitar and the  mic myself.. You can sing the lead or the harmonies and play along. Hours of fun :) Ive had it about a month and Im still playing it...

I really really really want this game, but unfortunately it isn't available where I live (India) -- in fact the whole Guitar Hero / Rock Band thing hasn't caught on at all out here.  Anyways, I am in London over this weekend so I'll going to pick it up there (after I confirm it's region-free).  Will probably do a quick visit to the Beatles Store on Baker St too.  Damn, my credit card is going to get hot with all that swiping :(

PS: As an aside, I play the guitar (a real guitar, I mean) but GH/RB are still great fun to play :)

Hahaha that sounds like something I'd do.  ;D

I went to a mall today and I spent a ridiculous amount of time at Gamestop playing Beatles Rockband. I got 68% on I Feel Fine on expert. Not bad for a first time if I do say so myself! ;D
Music is like candy; you throw away the rappers.

Sir John Johns

That's what I thought, but I spent a couple of evenings playing this game at a couple of parties. With 6 people playing along it's a great fun!.

What a great way to introduce The Beatles to a new generation.

I won't buy this. The graphics and all look pretty good, but the game is nothing for me.

I really love Beatles Rock Band, after all, it's what got me hooked on the Beatles! I play it all the time and it's a great way to become "involved" in the music.

McCartney 'failed own hits on Rock Band'

By Sarah Rollo

Sir Paul McCartney has revealed that he was booed off stage playing his own songs on Rock Band.
The music legend enlisted the help of his assistant to get the game going then failed to complete any of the songs he had written. McCartney, who earlier praised Beatles: Rock Band as an exciting venture, told The Times: "My assistant showed me how to set it up 'cos I'm not Mr Tech. "I lost twice. On Easy... and I was playing bass, I'm ashamed to say. It's all red and green and yellow buttons. I said, 'Can we start this again?'"
