anyone like captain beefheart, and his magic band(which sometimes includes ry cooder)? he worked with zappa, in the 70's, and went to high school with him, in lancaster, california, and then performed with a growing style of vocal abilities, and played the blues harmonica, and saxaphone. his work includes 'safe as milk', 'doc at the radar station'. i bought his greatest hits cd the other day, he's great.

i remember when i was a bit younger and i got hold of trout mask replica. igave it a lsiten and thought to myself "what kind of bullsh*t is this." then, not too long ago i gave it another lsiten (my music taste had grown qutie a bit) and i thought to myself "this piece of sh*t f***ing rocks."

i guess it was too experimental for me when i was young. the voice still annoys me from time to time, but you got to love all that funky instrumental work.

they say the beatles were experimental with sgt. pepper's, but beefheart takes it to a whole other level.
