I didn't mean to be mean, Cor. Yes, my 1963 Gretsch 6122 Country Gentleman is a fine guitar and produces that early Beatles sound, but as a result of The Beatles' appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, Gretsch had to produce a large number of Country Gents to meet order demands in 1964. There were some slight changes in the 1964 model as far as the neck pickup and tuners.

I bought mine before it became a "collectible." It's good to see that nice examples of George's second Gountry Gentleman, a 1963 model, are still rationally priced. The 1964 and 1965 models are cheaper because so many were made. The Country Gentleman stayed relatively the same until 1967 when they lost the mutes and the fretboard was changed from ebony to rosewood.

That's where I purchased mine. They price their vintage guitars very reasonably.

And you should get the book Gretsch: The Guitars of the Fred Gretsch Company by Jay Scott. Lots of information in that book!

4.Well, first of all, I love music, my all time two favourite bands are 'The Beatles' and 'Aerosmith' (but I love many others), I play guitar (since a few months ago), I play soccer, I like snowboarding and I practice it, the first Beatles song I liked was Twist and Shout and I heard it in the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", I have a lot of firends and all of them listen to old rock classics, I don't have any object with the Beatles (like t-shirts or posters), I just have their all songs on my mp3 and in my head

Hello everyone! I'm a newbie here.

4. I absolutely love music, all types (my favourite genre is rock 'n' roll of course). I have several thousand albums. I've been to tons of concerts. I write for a few music websites and publications (including some Beatley ones). I became a Beatles fan at the age of 9 (before that I was an Elvis girl). My favourite Beatle is Paul. My favourite Beatle albums are Abbey Road (it was my first), Revolver, and Rubber Soul. My favourite Beatles song is Blackbird (though I also greatly love I Will). Other things about me... I adore Cary Grant. I practice yoga and meditation. I'm a vegan. I'm a college student--working toward becoming a special education teacher (working with students with disabilities)--I'm almost there! In addition to the Beatles, I absolutely love the Jam (probably my second favourite band ever), the Moody Blues, and the Kinks.

Hi everyone, thought I would introduce myself to you all. I've been a fan of the Beatles since I first heard them as a very young boy back in the 60's, the first song I remember hearing was 'She Loves You'. I can't say that I have any particular favourite Beatle but if I had to choose it would probably be Ringo. Favourite albums Let It Be and Abbey Road. Favourite songs 'And I Love Her' & 'Something'. Favourite film 'Hard Days Night'.

The other groups and singers I like are: Slade, Nina Simone and most of the Mersey sounds of the 60's in particular Freddie and the Dreamers, DC Five and Gerry and the Pacemakers. My teenage years was the 70's and was a fashion geek of the time and loved the music (and still do). Other things I like are movies and games, very amateur guitar and drums and I'm a Trekkie, like to read fantasy stuff such Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter and I like to write poetry. I guess that sums me up, so again Hi!

Hi Bobber, no not a fan. It's just a twist on the word Sticks (my wife bought me electronioc drums as it's a thing I've always wanted to play) also I took the name from the Greek mythological river that takes you to the underworld at death.
