Beatle songs with not all four playing
« on: November 24, 2023, 09:12:36 PM »

This popped up on social media showing a Venn diagram of which Beatles were not on various recordings.

Can’t vouch for its accuracy. For example it’s not clear that Paul wasn’t on She Said She Said. He played on some takes before storming out but I don’t think it’s confirmed if any of his bass was used in the released version.

That's a nice presentation.

Looks pretty accurate.

Martha My Dear should probably be Paul, George and Ringo.

Yes Martha surprised me. I thought at least those two were on it. Sometimes they played and the part was wiped or buried in the mix but they still took part in the track.

I've always thought I'm Looking Through You was a solo effort by Paul...

Yes I thought that too. I don’t think the diagram is 100% accurate. Pretty good though.

I'm Looking Through You has all four Beatles on it.

You can hear Lennon singing harmony and it even has Ringo on organ  - playing mainly one note ! He also reportedl overdubbed himself tapping on a matchbox ...

One song that should probably be on there is Old Brown Shoe but I daren't say where, otherwise you'll get ten pages of debate as to who was playing drums
