And wasn't that shooter under the delusion that he was the Joker?

Yes.

Yes.

I knew it. Wow, for once the U.S. news media stepped back and didn't rake that story over the coals again. Those families have been through enough.

But shame on Warner Brothers for making another violent Batman motion picture.

It's a simple decision, really.  Either you will or you won't...

I don't think I'm going to see Joker.  I asked two people at work and they said they have no plans to.  I respect their lack of desire to see it, so I don't think I will.  They're a couple of smart bunnies so I want to be thought of as a smart bunny, too, even though I'm not but maybe I can pass as one by not seeing Joker.

Brightburn. It was good but too bloody for my taste. But for just over a buck at Redbox, a pretty good rental deal.

^^^

I’ve been wondering whether to watch Brightburn, this encourages me (not the bloody part)

Caught the new Terminator. It’s getting a lot of flack but I quite enjoyed it, even if it’s just the latest version of terminator comes back and tries to kill a future human saviour or their parent. I’m a sucker for Arnie so was good to see him having fun with his role. Pretty good action scenes too.

Im looking forward to The Irishman next week.

Just watched 12th Man, (on SBS catch up Moog) true story of a Norwegian undercover expedition during WW2 to destroy Nazi installations in Nazi held Norway. Very well made, quite astounding what happened (I won't say what) great cinematography, direction and acting.

I recently watched the horror movie Tusk. One of the more disturbing things I've ever seen. Takes the phrase I Am the Walrus to a whole new level lol. You have to see to understand what I mean. (PS the movie is not Beatles-related)

Took my boys to the new Star Wars. Quite liked this one. Like all Star Wars a bit cheesy but had some good moments and ended well I think.

Probably most interesting was in the credits. Dhani Harrison having a cameo as a stormtrooper.

Cool, first I heard of this, there were a number of cameos I have heard but have not heard details yet.

For all the negative hype around this movie ahead of the release, I too, enjoyed it.

Went to see JoJo Rabbit (it’s so hot here that movies are a nice way to stay cool for a few hours).  Written and directed by Taika Waititi of Thor Ragnarok fame it’s set during the last days of WW2 in Germany and centres on a young boy in the Hitler Youth who has Adolf Hitler (played by Waititi) as his imaginary friend. Things get complicated when he discovers his mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their house. The film is sometimes funny, sometimes darkly humorous and sometimes tragic. All the young actors, including the main characters best friend, do a great job. Well worth it if you like dark humour and very quick mood changes.

And there’s a Beatle angle. The opening sequence, involving the child protagonist romping with his imaginary buddy, takes place with Komm Gib Mir Deine Hand as the musical accompaniment.

That’s a show I keep meaning to watch from the beginning.

I went to see Little Women tonight with my daughter (and the Lab she’s currently raising for Guiding Eyes lol). It was a little confusing at first because the story is told with parallel timelines but once my brain got used to that I really enjoyed it.

My wife and her friend just saw this and both loved it.  Glad to hear you enjoyed it Kelley.

I saw the new Star Wars flick and liked it.  I also watched 'Knives Out' and 'Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood'.  'Knives Out' was alright and had a stellar cast.  Murder Mystery type deal.  'BDITN' was a bit odd.  I guess I was expecting a Mr. Rogers documentary, but it was more about Mr. Rogers helping a guy through some issues.  I liked it, but again, it was a bit odd.

Every film I watch at the moment seems to have a Beatle angle. Watched The Two Popes on Netflix. It’s about the retirement of Benedict, the previous pope. He was a good pianist and mentioned to Francis, his soon to be successor, that he’d recorded “where the Beatles recorded”. At the end Francis gives Benedict a copy of Abbey Road as a farewell present.

It’s actually a well done, and at times moving film, for anyone with some interest in the Catholic Church.
