Thank-you, Kathy.  Remember, SyFy and Decades are both running Twilight Zone Marathons for New Year's this year.  I know you'll be watching.  Unfortunately The Changing of the Guard is not included in either.

I canceled my cable, so I will make my own marathon by mixing up the episodes myself on Amazon Prime. (We'll see how it goes this year; last year wasn't very successful.) "Changing of the Guard" and "The Night of the Meek" are two of my must-see Christmas shows, so I've already watched them (and wiped tears away).

I wonder why they decide to remake the classics...

I know that's a rhetorical question, but I have to say, I wish Hollywood would just stop with the remakes and sequels.  :(

The Sound of Metal, a 2020 Amazon Original about a rock drummer struggling with hearing loss. It was pretty good, dragged a little, but the acting was wonderful.

WW84

Terrible comic movie that drug and felt like it was 4 hours long.  Wonder Woman trying to be Spiderman.  All she did was swing from her lasso.

There are a few exceptions.  In The Golden Days of Television we were sometimes treated with fine remakes for example this 1955 Christmas Special of The Miracle on 34th Street...

The 20th Century Fox Hour   Broadcast on December 14, 1955

Macdonald Carey as Fred Gaily
Teresa Wright as Doris Walker
Thomas Mitchell as Kris Kringle
Sandy Descher as Susan Walker
Hans Conreid as Mr. Shellhammer
Ray Collins as Judge Harper
Dick Foran as Thomas Mara
John Abbott as Dr. Sawyer
Don Beddoe as Mr. Macy
Whit Bissell as Dr. Pierce

Fine acting by some very fine actors.   icon_good

I hope your kids enjoyed it.

I never understood just what powers Wonder Woman had.   ???

Yeah just saw it. Pretty cheesy. And the action sequences just looked so contrived.  I enjoyed the Marvel series but I think I’ll be passing on future DC ones. They just can’t get the tone right.

It seems to be whatever is needed at the time.

The Invisible Man (2020). Meh. I think I read too many glowing reviews, because I found it just so-so. I keep meaning to track down the H.G. Wells book.

My older daughter and I did both like the movie Ouija Shark, though, one of those so-bad-it's-good movies. We had fun snickering our way through it and making snarky critiques.  :)

Exactly.  They just make them up as they go.

Oscar Levant.  He was quirky alright.  But he was a piano virtuoso...

As you can likely tell from the screenshot Barry posted, it's Oscar worthy.  ;)

Watched the new Pixar film Soul. Beautifully designed and animated with a sweet story that anyone with musical inclinations should enjoy, but especially jazz fans. Also with a message a little more nuanced then the typical “follow your dreams” moral that come from most films.

Shadow In The Cloud

This movie was so over the top and bad that I actually didnt mind it.  I like Chloe Grace Moretz, but I hope she doesnt take to many roles like this in the future.

WW1, climbing on the outside of a plane, fighting the enemy, and ohh,,,,,,,,,,,a vampire bat gremlin too.  Whats there not to like?

If you do, please share your reaction to the twist ending.  ;)  Neither my daughter nor I saw it coming.

A vampire bat gremlin! Sounds intriguing.  :)
