I watched Apollo 13 a few days ago.  The movie's dialogue is largely tech talk about saving the spacecraft.  But it was an amazing event and almost impossible to believe they re-entered earth's atmosphere and survived their catastrophic experience.  You'd almost think this movie is fiction but nope, it's entirely true.

Right, Loco.  Ron Howard kept his movie accurate and factual...

i haven't laughed that hard in awhile. Wow, John Belushi really nailed the Richard Dreyfus character.

Back when SNL was actually good.  :)

Thanks for sharing that, Barry. I'll have to share it with my older daughter.

saw Top Gun Maverick on Monday, while I could have written the script (somewhat predictable) it was well done, well cast, and was a very fun movie to see.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast, an old favorite.  icon_love  I took all three kids to see it at the IMAX theater in Richmond, VA in early 2021.. Such good memories!

Took my youngest to see Thor. Quite fun although the self aware joking that was great in Thor Ragnarok is beginning to look a bit  formulaic. Still there was some fun scenes and I found Natalie Portman bearable. That’s good for her.  The big plus was its relative brevity. It came in under two hours which is pretty good for a marvel film. I was easily able to contain the craving for a bathroom break.

I can't keep all these Marvel / DC movies straight. Maybe it's a right brain–left brain thing.  :)

I'm not sure I'll be so fortunate tomorrow night, when my friends and I are going to see Elvis, which clocks in at just under 3 hours. I'll be lucky if I can even stay awake that long.

It'll probably be good despite its length if you're a fan of The King.

Still, my favorite Elvis movie is Heartbreak Hotel (1988), an American comedy film written and directed by Chris Columbus which starred David Keith and Tuesday Weld. Set in 1972, the story deals with one of the many "legends" involving Elvis Presley (Keith) about his fictional kidnapping, and his subsequent redemption from decadence.

The film opens in 1972 with a single mother and her two children (a teenage son and nine-year-old daughter) running a boarding house. The mother is hurt in a car accident and hospitalized. As a birthday present, her son and his band drive her Pink Cadillac to Cleveland, Ohio, to kidnap her favorite singer, Elvis Presley.

David Keith was a very believable Elvis...

There was a Titanic TV movie?  Is that the miniseries with Malcolm Stewart, George C. Scott and Roger Rees as the Three Stooges William Murdoch, Edward Smith and Bruce Dismay?

The 1979 ELVIS TV movie was made into a movie and was released theatrically throughout Europe and Australia.  Kurt Russell's performance was excellent and helped launch his motion picture career.

Oh I take issue with that. Clearly what launched Kurt’s career was ….
