Yeah very funny. ;)

Watching tv series called Succession. Very good.

Just started Succession. Brian Cox is great. Think I’ll enjoy this one.

The Banshees of Inisherin is about two stupid friends  ha2ha
I was amazed by Colin Farrell acting.
And Barry Keoghan played a fool very naturally  ha2ha

The Good Nurse, with Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain. I liked it so much I bought the book on which it is based and devoured it in 2 days. Now I'll pass it to my younger daughter, who's in nursing school.  :)

Over the weekend, I watched Here Comes Mr. Jordan again...

A terrific romantic fantasy/comedy with excellent acting by Robert Montgomery, Claude Raines and Evelyn Keyes.  The 1978 Heaven Can Wait was a remake...

It doesn't come close to the original.

Elizabeth Montgomery looked just like her dad.

Watched The Menu with Ralph Fiennes.

Bit silly and over the top. Quite fun though in a dark sort of way. Fiennes seemed like he was enjoying himself playing the maniac chef.

Where The Crawdads Sing.

Watchable movie, a bit silly and went on a bit too long. But ok - ish.

Lake Mungo (2008). My sleep schedule is all mixed up, and I made the mistake of watching this at 3:00 am. I don't usually get frightened by movies, but this one totally creeped me out. I was almost tempted to text my younger daughter, who lives here in town, and ask her to come over.  ha2ha

^^

That’s a creepy one.  And well done. When I saw it it really came across as a straight documentary.

Yes; I found it very convincing. I read that the actors didn't even have a script to follow; they ad libbed their answers to the "interviewers."

Just saw M3gan (2022). I had high hopes for this one, and it started off well but then degenerated into B-movie schlock.

The Son.

Not bad, a bit slow. Apparently it's a prequel to The Father.

All Quiet On The western Front.

Wow! Has to be the best war film I've ever seen, gruesome and horrific. Brings home the true meaningless horror of war.

Makes me very sad for Ukraine.

I watched this and it was great. Strange how they changed the ending that contradicted the title though. I suppose it made it more dramatic.

I recently watched two movies that I thought were particularly good: His House, a nontraditional horror film in that it partially focuses on the conflict in South Sudan. Lots of good jump scares, and just overall very interesting and different (in a good way), I thought.

I also saw We Have a Ghost, which I found both funny and moving. I was tearing up at the end.

We're in our third winter storm in 2 weeks, and another one's on the way this weekend, so no doubt I'll be posting in this thread again soon.  :)

I dont remember the last movie I saw (can't even tell you the last time I went to the cinema!). We watch a lot of Netflix series. About to finish season two of Shadow and Bone. I'd love to read the books.

Currently (slowly) watching all John Wayne's westerns from his breakthrough movie Stagecoach(which is superb).

Good idea! I should try that.

Just finished the Little Richard biopic "I Am Everything." I thought it was fantastic.

The John Ford-directed John Wayne westerns and his Cavalry Trilogy will always be amongst the best westerns ever made.

My favorite is The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.  It took a very special and strong individual to do what Tom Doniphon did in that movie.  Only John Wayne could play that role.

It just occurred to me why I like The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance so much.  There's a bit of Cyrano de Bergerac in there...

I agree Pilgrim  ;D

It's a great film, especially as JW & Jimmy Stewart didn't like each other.
