I just found the perfect movie to put on in the background while I format tables: "Cold Wind Blowing."  ha2ha  Might as well start getting ready for winter.

OK, well, that movie was terrible, so I'm going with "Hypothermia" now.  ;D

Talk to Me (2023).

I found it a bit disappointing. I suppose I'd read too many rave reviews online. It was good—better than most horror movies, I think (although that's not saying much)—but I wasn't as absorbed as I expected to be.

I personally had a hard time watching it because the main young man in it reminded me a bit of my son, although he was a few years younger than my son the last time I saw him. The scene where this character approaches his sister's bedroom one night with his pillow, hoping to crash with her because he was frightened, and then was cruelly rebuffed, actually made my heart seem to physically hurt, and I turned it off. But I'd paid good money to rent it, so I turned it back on after a bit.  ;)

Overall, I think it's a decent option for someone looking for a Halloween movie.

Just found what I'm pretty sure will be the perfect Halloween movie (for me, anyway). My daughters and I love the Hell House LLC trilogy, and I just now found out the fourth installment will be released on Monday, October 30. That gives me a day to pick up popcorn and gather my blankets and pillows for me and my younger daughter:

I watched a good film on the flight to Hawaii called Ford versus Ferrari, starring Christian Bale and Matt Damon.

Great film for you Baz as I know you like car racing. All based around the 24 hour Le Mon race. Bale is superb, he can seem to do so many accents and personalities. It's not all about racing though, more about the politics within the Ford Company.

Kev, you have gotten to know me well.  I love that movie!  I've watched it several times.

Christian Bale as Ken Miles and Matt Damon as Carroll Shelby played their roles to perfection.  I agree with your comment about Christian Bale.  He captured Australian Ken Miles precisely.

Ken Miles winning at Sebring in 1966...

1966 24 Hours of Le Mans...

That's Carroll Shelby with his left hand on Ken Miles' shoulder.

And Carroll Shelby...

...one of my racing heroes.

The film had some beautifully filmed racing scenes...

Knew you'd like that movie Baz  ;D

FYI.
Kenneth Henry Jarvis Miles (1 November 1918 – 17 August 1966) was a British sports car racing engineer and driver best known for his motorsport career in the US and with American teams on the international scene. He is an inductee to the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America.

He was a Yorkshireman, and Bale did the accent perfectly even though he's Welsh. !!

Thanks for your FYI, Kev.  As I was writing my post, I had you on my mind.  But you're British too!   ;D

I was wondering if Christian Bale got Ken Miles' accent right as you would definitely know.

As far as the scene toward the end of the movie where Enzo Ferrari tips his hat to Ken Miles after the Le Mans race, no such thing happened.  Enzo Ferrari was not at the 24 hour race that year.  But it was a nice touch.

Yes the accent was perfect, there are some actors that can pull off any accent perfectly, Bale is one of them. One of my favourite actors (Robert Pattinson) is also extremely good at this.

The mall car chase scene's music was a combination of these two great songs...

The Bravados.

Western....Gregory Peck plays a moody man who has been wronged and is hunting 4 killers. Joan Collins also stars but she isn't a great actress.

Excellent film (free on Youtube)

Eden Lake
A young Michael Fassbender and his girlfriend go wild camping and get terrorized by a gang of psycho teenagers.
One of those low budget jobs that you know is a bit crap but you have to watch it to the end just to see what happens.

I'll have to track that one down, mostly because I'm having a very hard time picturing Aidan Quinn as Paul and, even more so, Jared Harris as John.
