Yeah I can understand  why this wasn’t the chosen take. Interesting to hear all the same.

I prefer Take 4 of Oh! Darling because it sounds more like a torch song than the polished version with its background vocals that appears on the album.  Indeed, if you take the electric guitar out of the mix and tone down the drums thereby highlighting the piano and Paul's vocals you begin to approach how the song would sound if Paul was singing the song in a lounge accompanying himself on piano.  There's a lot of emotion in the vocals on Take 4.  Even the pauses in the vocals convey emotion as if the singer was trying to compose himself before he could continue singing.  I like that kind of phrasing.

I don't know.  I think I like Take 4 because of how clearly I can hear Paul struggling to sing this song.  I like the effort and energy he put into it.  It's still not a song I care to listen to, however.

I don't think Paul was struggling, Loco.  He was phrasing emotional lyrics.  If you're gonna sing a torch song, then sing it right and without background vocals.  Do it like you were singing in a lounge or small club.  And Paul certainly did in Take 4.

The same goes for the Anthology version of I'm Looking Through You.  I prefer that version too. I mean if you're gonna spill your liver at some woman, do it right and not with all the "why tell me whys" which only soften the blow.

Hello:  I'll listen to it again.  I don't feel like it right now.  I actually want to lie down and take a snooze.

Have a nice evening.

So Mark Lewisohn had this tape for the past 50 years and he finally decides to talk about it?   ???

Sounds like he's promoting his stage show.

well made video

this song has been in my top 5 for years now, took over #1 in fact.  I took the opening and made it my ring tone and default alarm so I hear it every morning.  Is it perfect, yeah, pretty close me thinks

I'm listening to it on Amazon Prime.  I haven't ordered the physical product.  I'm not sure if I will.

I'm amazed at the sound.  I don't understand how these sound engineers do stuff like this.  How can you take an old record and make it sound so good?

Sometimes when I tell someone I don't like a song, they'll tell me it's their favorite song.  What am I supposed to say then?  Oh, I really like it now.  You gotta be kidding.

Also, I "hate" Oh, Darling!!

I’m so glad you mentioned this Loco! Somehow I was under the impression that I would have to have Unlimited to listen. Lately, every time I try to use Prime Music I find out what I want to hear is no longer available at my level. I’m kind of disgusted with them. But I’ll forgive them for now because I really want to hear this. Yipee!

No, just keep asking them what else they like until they mention something you both agree on.  ;)

I just watched this for the first time. And the second. And the third. I absolutely love what they’ve done here! I have to admit that by the third time through I got more than a little teary eyed between 1:56 and 2:03. Now I have to move on to just listening.  :)

I've got to admit it's getting better, a little better all the time.  The 2019 remix of Here Comes The Sun sounds better than my original STEREO Abbey Road LP and 1987 STEREO CD versions.  And just a bit better than this MONO mix version found on this rare 1969 Brazilian MONO Abbey Road LP:  Here Comes The Sun MONO mix

It's so nice hearing George's voice centered in the MONO and, now, the 2019 mixes!  I'll be ordering the Abbey Road Anniversary Super Deluxe Anniversary Set.
