My favourite one is everyone believing that the Walrus is a sign of death. To who exactly? An eskimo? To them most big hairy things with large teeth are a sign of death. The closest I can get to anyone being specific is "some primitive cultures".
Its like the Da Vinci code, the Bermuda triangle, crop circles, and Nostrodamus. Some people never seem to ask questions.
