Noel Paul Stookey started out as a comedian at the Gaslight club in Greenwich village so it's only natural that he would, at times, seek to inject humor into the proceedings. I think I Dig was mostly in that vein. And it wasn't the first time he lampooned a particular musical style. This song pokes fun at the 1920's crooners. Sometimes I skip it when I listen to the album it's on but overall I love "See What Tomorrow Brings" so Kev, keep your hammer away from it! ;)

Noel Paul Stookey also played electric guitar in a rock n' roll band before he made the folk scene.
