I know this isn't a Beatles song, but I don't know if they've ever covered it.

It doesn't sound like a song they'd cover, though.

That's an 'oldies' classic performed by Three Dog Night in the late 60's.

I've seen a few of those too:

Highway to Hell- The Sex Pistols
My Girl- The Beach Boys
The Lion Sleeps Tonight- The Byrds
I Got You Babe- Bob Dylan and Janis Joplin?!?!?!?!?!

Nicely done. That was Gerry Rafferty's band. Sounds like a Dylan imitation.

Yep,,,,Right Down The Line. (Great song)

Everyone should pick up 'Snakes and Ladders' also. Great album, but she's a tough find on CD.

Yes, Nilsson recorded it first, on Aerial Ballet in 1968. It's a great album, and The Beatles loved it - along with his first album Pandemonium Shadow Show. Lennon and Nilsson worked together a few times in the 70s.

Beatles tracks recorded by Nilsson: http://fortheloveofharry.blogspot.com/2008/11/nilsson-sings-beatles-1967-1980.html (includes You Can't Do That, his Beatles medley from the first album).

Nilsson for president (John and Paul interview, 1968): http://fortheloveofharry.blogspot.com/2008/11/john-paul-nilsson-for-president-1968.html

Plenty more in that blog, for those who are interested.
