There's some interesting facts on the collectibility of the Butcher Covers albums. The original Butcher Cover is worth alot (but there are fakes). There are also some with the new cover (Beatles in steamer trunk) that were plastered over the Butcher Cover (apparently you can see the Butcher Cover under or around Ringo's head (or something like that). I think these are even more valuable than the original butcher cover. Then there are the peel-offs, where people have tried to remove the second cover to reveal the butcher (these are worth less, especially if it's a bad peel job).
I never liked the Butcher cover much--as supposed "pop art" or a statement. But the Beatles in the trunk is definitely worse. Definitely the worst cover of a Beatles album (even worse than the fake fifties Rock and Roll Music album).
Please correct me if I'm wrong with the facts re. Butcher. I read this stuff a long time ago.
