Cheers PC. Am I the only one who finds the original Don't Want No Pakistani's lyric a bit off. It's always mentioned as a satire, and times were different then, but sheesh. Put that with Revolution (don't get angry, don't fight) and you'd think they were being bankrolled by The Conservitive (US = Republican ) Party.
Which is why I think '68 onwards Stones with songs like Street Fighting Man had edged to the front in the Relevance Race.

yeah it does seem like the beatles backed off...and equally hard to believe that paul was that vocal in his bigotry...

Just discovered this thread. I actually think Paul was being sarcastic with the 'no Pakistanis' vocal. It was the time of people like Enoch Powell and anti immigration (as opposed to racism). Britain had high levels of Asian immigrants flooding into the country looking for work, and there was quite a backlash building. I can't believe he actually meant it as a racist comment, even though it sounds like one.
