well apparently Paul had a car accident in late 1965 which caused him to have a scar & chiped tooth which you can see very clearly in the Paperback Writer vido!

Yeah I notice that, but they weren't on tour then so he would've had plenty of time to patch it up.  I mean I don't know of anyone who would wait that long to fix it. perhaps the scar that he grew a moustache to cover it up was cause by the doctor's repairing it.

Wasn't it a motorcycle accident in 1966, that caused the chipped tooth and scar?

"Wenesday November 9th 1966 Paul McCartney DID have an accident, but this was a motorcycle accident on the way to his aunt Bett's house, and it did not happen at 5 o'clock. A local doctor was called, and the accident resulted in only a chipped tooth, and a scar to his lip. This is why in the "Rain" and "Paperback Writer" videos, Paul appears without a tooth"

So tell me, how come Paul has a clipped tooth when the video was shot on May 19, 1966?

His hair looks like it's from late 1965 so I think that's when it was.  Too bad we can't find out all the other information that goes along with the story.

I've read that his moped accident occured on December 26, 1965.  Anyway, here a June 16, 1966 interview with Paul which appeared in the June 24, 1966 edition of the New Musical Express:

http://www.geocities.com/~beatleboy1/db1966.0616.beatles.html

Paul talks about the accident:

He started to finger his lip, almost without thinking, and I asked him about the reports that he'd broken a tooth.

"You're right," he admitted candidly. "I did it not long ago when I came off a moped. Now I've had it capped... Look."

I looked but I couldn't see anything. A perfect mend. Only a small scar remains on his lip as a souvenir."

"It was quite a serious accident at the time. It probably sounds daft, having a serious accident on a motorized bicycle, but I came off it hard and I got knocked about a bit. My head and lip were cut and I broke the tooth."

I was only doing about 30 at the time, but it was dark and I hit a stone and went flyin' through the air. It was my fault... it was a nice night and I was looking at the moon."

The video's for Paperback Writer and Rain were shot on May 19, 1966 and the accident must have happened not too long before that. It did not happen in November 1966 contrary to popular belief to fit in the Paul Is Dead hoax.
