You won't regret UNPLUGGED. Paul is in good form. I think his strength is playing to smaller audiences, and interacting with them.

FLAMING PIE? Paul's attempt to write and perform a really good album. Did he? Depends on your expectations. I found it very ordinary. Others sing its prases.

One of my other favourite Unplugged albums is of course by Eric Clapton. When I first listened to Paul's Unplugged album I couldn't help but find so many little similarities, for example "San Francisco Bay Blues." I think even at one point Paul starts a song, and stops a few seconds in saying " 'ang on, 'ang on..."   ;D  Both are great.

You'll enjoy it. Like I say, I feel that Paul's performing strength is is front of smaller audiences, not in stadiums.

Yeah, the 'unplugged' is good. I'm one of those people that also sing the praises of 'Flaming Pie'. I think its fantastic.

I've never followed up on one of my posts with another, but I just got a chance to watch this entire performance, and the quality is outstanding. How cool to have the whole show instead of the edited version. You can get this on Ebay and its worth the $15.00 or so.

I saw Paul on MTV Unplugged back in 91 & it's one of his finest moments while I haven't listened to the album but it more than likely kicks.

Go for it, it's a fine McCartney live CD.
Check it out, and I'm shure, you'll like it.

You're absolutely right, it's really fun to accompanie Paul's band on acoustic guitar.

Just got the Unplugged DVD toady. First time I see this. The quality is so so. I was a little surprised to see him f*ck up We Can Work It Out not once, but twice. He was trying to be not very awkward by this. But he got away with this as he wrote that song. But it was fun. Hamish Stuart is a fine vocalist. I liked the version of And I Love Her very much.

I have to disagree with this. Hamish is a fine guitar player, but i've felt that he's pretty much sounded like garbage on anything he's done with Paul vocal wise. Just my personal experience from listening to him and seeing him live.

His backing vocals just made those otherwise great songs sound like crap. With the exception of 'Ain't No Sunshine' on "Unplugged", his vocal contribution to the 89-90 tour and "Flowers In The Dirt", sucked.  Luckily his vocals were pretty much buried in the mix on "Off The Ground". Good musician otherwise.

Interesting how Eric recorded this cover (January 16, 1992) after Paul had recorded his Unplugged exactly one year earlier (January 25, 1991) ... only a coincidence?  ??) ... curiously both last almost 3 minutes, the difference is about 4 or 5 seconds ...

... I don't like the song but I think that Paul's cover is better ...
