If there's one bloke I can't stand it's P Townsend, always seemed completely up himself  :)

He always did. But usually at least an interesting interview.  I’m curious to read both his and Daltrey’s autobios now.

Love a good ghost story. I have my next reading material  icon_good

She also wrote a good scary one called The Winter People. The flap copy didn't sound that great, but I recently read it and it was fantastic. If you like scary stories, you'll probably like The Winter People as well.  :)

I'm currently reading Mr. Raccoon and His Friends by Senator Eugene J. McCarthy...

Ten stories featuring Mr. Raccoon and other animals such as Badger, Beaver, and Horace the Horse.

No, this horse's name is Horace who has his own problems with human beings:  he would rather read newspapers than win races, and he has to think fast to avoid the glue factory.

Look for it in Children's Books, Kelley.  It was Senator McCarthy's only children's book.

I'm surprised that my kiddy lit professor neglected to mention it. But now I'll keep my eyes open for it.

Just picked up Picnic at Hanging Rock and am looking forward to starting it.  glassesslip

It'll have to wait until I receive and read Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child's Old Bones. Preston and Child trump everything for me, even work.

I'm intrigued.

Right now I'm re-reading The Poseidon Adventure. It was a favorite back in my early teens.

Interesting if they have the final chapter in it.  The book was originally published in 1967 without it and the last chapter was only published separately in 1987. Not sure whether it’s included as a matter of course now.

Oh, that's interesting! I've never seen the movie, either. I'm definitely more of a book person.

I just started the Preston/Child book but will read Picnic at Hanging Rock next.
