All I've Got to Do

Hi, I'm new here
I just wanted to make an appreciation thread for one of my favorite songs.
It doesn't seem to be discussed that much around Beatles fans.
I'm just in love with the melody. It's such a sweet ballad.
I love the way John hums the main melody at the end, leaving me with a bittersweet feeling.
Does anyone else love this song?

I think you'll find it quite popular around these parts.
Welcome, btw!

I love the Ringo/John's guitar interaction. It is so perfect.
Among other things!

Sorry if this song already got it's own thread.
I looked some pages back but didn't find anything and just wanted to express my love for the song.
I'm glad it seems to be popular here.
And yes the melody is very Motown-esque. But still unique and very Lennon esque of course.
The humming of the melody at the end shows it's strength in a great way in my opinion.

Was my favourite song by the four at one point - love the pulsating bass and John's vocals

For me it's a beautiful song with a brooding melody which never gets the plaudits it deserves.
Sublime vocal dynamics and impressive flirtation between John's rhythm chords and Ringo's Hi-hat.
The second of four tremendous opening tracks on "With The Beatles", before side one (I'm thinking in vinyl here) takes a nosedive.

I see it's been a little over ten years since I made the comment "Some great early Motown....by The Beatles!" Indeed John was influenced by Smokey Robinson and Arthur Alexander during this time period and covered some of their songs. John borrowed the introductory fourth chord and lyrical intent from The Miracles' 1959 romantic ballad (You Can) Depend On Me...

I like All I’ve Got to Do. It’s one I didn’t hear til I was older as my brothers didn’t have the album so had to wait til I bought it myself. It’s a decent tune with a great John vocal. So hard not to like from my point of view.
