Worst Versions of Beatles songs
« on: February 23, 2004, 03:45:31 PM »

What are some of the worst versions of Beatles songs you've heard? I've never really liked it when other singers cover songs of my favourite bands especially when they butcher then.

I'll start with Alanis singing Dear Prudence.

I know this is a solo John song but has anyone heard Lou Reed sing "Jealous Guy"? It was on the dvd where a bunch of artists sang Lennon songs. He absolutely ruined the song. It was so painful to watch I had to skip over it.

It's a medley (more like a mudley!) of PS I Love You and Love Me Do that Paul performed on the tour before "Back In The US". It's appalingly bad!

A couple of years ago, Beatles CDs were very hard to find on the market here since nobody bought them. One day, as i was passing though a music store, i spotted with the conrener of my eye a CD written huge on its cover THE BEATLES. So i grab the CD i look at the songs (great selection i might add) quickly buy it and go home (running my lungs out:D)
So i get home put the CD in the player and press the play button. And somenoe starts singing some beatles songs and man they sucked and i was so mad at it. The entire CD is made out of Beatles songs sung by other people. This is the "Butcher Album" i said to myself. Anyway as i looked carefully on the cover of the disc i saw on the corner, written with very small letters that those were not original beatles tracks, but other guys singing them!
Man i'm still p*ssed! X-|

I think Helter Skelter by Motley Crue & Here Comes The Sun by Bon Jovi are two of the worst covers of Beatles classics I have heard because they lack any originality at all.

I did that once with an elvis CD Mr. Fool.  IT is a rip off! I always read my CD's very carefully before I buy them!

I think Fool On the Hill was expecting to hear The Beatles and not a load of cover versions by different people.
