Did the Beatles drink coffee?
« on: December 10, 2018, 01:38:10 PM »

I've had the impression all they drank was tea and Coca Cola.  Is the thing about tea just a stereotype of the British?  I tend to think if you're English, you're a tea drinker.

Do they sell Folger's instant in England?  That's what I drink at home.  It's cheap but it's good IMO.

Back in the 60's England tea was the drink most people drank most of the time. Maybe the occasional coffee.
Things have changed and there are now coffee shops all over the UK

So Im guessing The Beatles drank tea 90% of the time with coffee now and then.

Thanks, nimrod.  I will sleep well tonight.  There's nothing too trivial to know when it comes to the Beatles!

Yes, and George was a poor pourer, at least in Paris.

Great photo HG that I'd never seen before.

Incidentally, in the north of England tea is not just a drink it's also a meal. You have breakfast in the morning, dinner at mid-day and tea at around five or six o'clock in the afternoon.

Meet The Wife was a TV show that was on at about 5.30 p.m. It would be normal to be eating at around this time.

It's also possible that Paul's question is asking if he can bring a firend to the house to eat and not just to have a cup of tea.

How tall is Paul?  In one of the photos below, he appears shorter than John.  But, I've seen many photos where he looks taller than John.  How do you explain this?  Did Paul rise a few notches as his musical career rose to the toppermost of the poppermost?

I will also say that the Beatles always look so good in their photo shoots.  They were amazingly photogenic.

But you notice only Paul is in a red jacket. The clues keep piling up.

If it isn’t it should be!

You’ll also notice that, while the other three Beatles are fully drinking their tea, Paul is only tilting his cup slightly. Like he’s pretending to drink. Clearly signifying that, unlike his band mates, Paul no longer needs earthly nourishment.

Why are there so many photos where Paul seems to be different than the other 3 Beatles?

This could not be deliberate - could it?

If Paul did not die in a car crash and lost his hair, what would this symbolism be telling us?  Could it mean that there was an early split between Paul and the other 3 before Paul actually announced their breakup as a band?

For example, I read somewhere that John didn't like it when Paul sang "Yesterday" solo on the Ed Sullivan show.  They said you can actually see a grim look on John's face while Paul sings.  You need to view a clip of the show to see this.

Also, wasn't there a lyric sung by John like "we are three?"  I can't think of the song at the moment.

Is 'Here come old flat-top' a hint that the world is flat, decades before brave internet warriors were able to finally reveal the truth.

And is he not holding his teacup properly? I read that when drinking tea one is not supposed to loop your fingers through the cup handle. He's the only one doing that in the photo.

Well, that's another clue for you all.

William Campbell, AKA Billy Shears, is taller than the real Paul...  ;D
