It is interesting how they could credibly jump from style to style on an album. It didn’t seem odd that they’d do a heavy track like helter skelter, an old timey music hall like Honey Pie and a musique concrete collage like Revolution 9 (ok that last one is probably a bit odd).
That was probably more common in that era, before all the new 60s rock split into more and more genres and sub-genres. But I can’t think of any band even in the 60s that could get away with doing all those styles and not have it seem jarring. Maybe the Kinks.
