What better way to end a great night than a sing-along ? Sir Paul McCartney leads the crowd in singing The Beatles' Hey Jude
The musical climax of the evening was provided by Sir Paul McCartney, the most successful songwriter in British history, who had the crowd singing and swaying. Smiling widely as he sat playing the piano, the British singer performed two songs: The End and Hey Jude.

Paul McCartney talks about Olympics plans, new album, in BBC interview
In an interview with Lauren Laverne on BBC 6 Music Thursday, Paul McCartney said he'll be attending some of the 2012 London Olympics events, calling it “one of the perks” of playing the opening ceremony.

Sir Paul comes to jumbo calf’s aid
MUMBAI/KOCHI: Former Beatle Paul McCartney took a break from his London Olympics performance rehearsal for Sunder, a baby elephant who has been beaten and kept in chains. McCartney, who first came to India in 1966, wrote to Maharashtra forest minister Patangrao Kadam to use his power to rescue Sunder. The elephant is at Jyotiba temple in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, and the singer wants him to be moved to his habitat.
